Now that the Exp2-42 is s l o w l y becoming available. Does anyone have any predictions/hopes for what might be revealed at Basle 2012?

I'll start - I hope we ll see a Sub-C no date!

Could be.. For what regard new models it's difficult to say, but my secret wish is to see the Milgauss GV out of production very soon!..

The Sub C date is here to stay in it's current configuration for sure, but I'd love to see the non-date come out in the proportional 42mm that the new ExpII is using.

Prediction:

ROLEX goes "full ceramic jacket" and bracelets !

The only things left that are 904 are the windy thingy and the spinny thingy caseback - oh and the clasp shell folding, keeps it on your wrist somewhat securely, mechanizm, thingy

I would like to see a Daytona Date at some point in time (probably not for a few years given the new ceramics are only just becoming available) but if not..... I am more than happy to stick with my Tudor Oysterdate until then.....

Something that resembles whatever the Chinese are interested in this year... that's my prediction for a new Rolex out of Basel.

No predictions/hopes from me. As impressed as I am when it comes to new models I find myself going backwards in time; looking at vintage more and more. As a matter of fact I find myself stuck in the middle right now, not really wanting to purchase the plexis of the 1960s or 1970s, but rather liking and enjoying the sapphire models of the mid 1980s up till the end of the 1990s with all tritium dials and hands and no SELs...

(But I tried out the 216570 today... and the 214270...)

Best,

A

Rolex will make its usual incremental changes. We'll love them or we'll hate them, we'll lust after them or shun them and then......

.
.
.

Prices will increase.
