I am still debating on upgrading my 4 to a 4S. A newer, slimmer form factor would of pushed me over the edge. The faster processor, better camera and little bit better battery life are the major improvements, but not sure if it's worth it to upgrade.

This is what I can do...use my wife's upgrade eligibility to get the 4S and give her my iPhone 4. UShe currently has a 3GS. Use my upgrade eligibility next year to get iPhone 5 or whatever may come out. After that, my wife's line will be eligible for at least an early upgrade. I have been doing this upgrade swapping for some time and it has worked out well. I've got nothing to lose or just sit tight for the iPhone 5?

Ashley you're right, I had the same iPhone as you, and I tell you it really annoyed me that I could not get an app to adjust the time on my iPhone to synchronise it to an atomic clock.

Android has an awesome free application called "Mobile TimeSync Expert" which is free and provides a great way to know what the true (atomic) time is and not only be able to set your watch from that but also set your phone to that time too.

Don't wait. Many industry experts are claiming that the "true" iPhone 5 may not arrive for another year.

Anandtech did a big article claiming that many suppliers were counting on an aggressive delivery timeline for 28nm stuff (current phones are 45nm). This stuff was supposed to be ready, but it has been fraught with issues.

The Android camp has been willing to make slightly larger phones that use more power, but Apple apparently did not want to do this.

Anand's prediction was that Q3 2012 is the likely date for any kind of phone (iPhone or Android) that has all the features and speed we want but is low power/heat and small.

My wife does not mind. As long as I can swap upgrades every year and not have to pay full price, then I have nothing to lose. I have 24 hours to think about it until the preordering starts.

Yeah, probably no need to wait it out.

How should desktop PC's be distributed? As you know, IT Directors like me are always looking for tech tips from the CFO.

Seriously, though, I'd like to see your detailed plan. Let's do a scenario - Company A has just sold a Company B to holding company C, which will run it as an independent unit. Company B has one year to establish and run their own operations. They currently have 500 employees working at Company A's campus, but none of those employees are IT. B has secured a new corporate HQ building and they need to stand up their operations and move staff there by the 9-month post-sale mark, but B can't take any of A's IT infrastructure.

I'm headed to a vendor golf tournament today, so you don't need to do it immediately. I probably won't see it until tomorrow.

Yeah I'll get right on it.

Short form would be a SaaS platform with appropriate SLA and termination of employees not intelligent enough to bring their own self-supported end-user computing device.

B could probably buy A in 24 months. The resulting IQ differential between the two companies would be a sustainable competitive advantage.

B's IT director would probably sabotage the data transfer and thwart my plan...

I'm down with SaaS, since that's my company, but honestly you are just scratching the surface.

Come on, just a basic outline.....please?

Btw, I've tried the two newest BB's and just decided to go to the new iPhone. Siri should mitigate my giant mam thumb problem.

Yeah, the Nexus phones rule. A friend of mine at the Goog is running ICS on his Nexus S.

The Prime should rule.

In the past, the Nexus devices have basically been Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy S hardware. The Prime is likely to be similar to the Galaxy S II.
Good to see another phone with the NFC and crypto chip. I use mine for PayPass payment (linked to Google wallet).

The Nexus phones are great because they're pure Google, easily rooted, and get the new OS updates first.

Just bought me a nice pre-loved 3Gs 16 GB wihte because my Nokia died after just a few months
After playing for a half an hour I knew....there is no way back..what a superb phone.
And if my current contract ends I will updat my current Apple product

And if that's 4s (for Steve ) or perhaps the 5, I don't really care

So glad I finaly pulled the trigger on an Apple product...

I went in to ATT this morning to preorder the 4S and you cannot preorder the phone and get the Apple Care warranty. You now HAVE to buy the Apple Care when you buy the phone. That's pretty dumb if you ask me.

My wife was going to upgrade from her 3g, but has decided on a white samsung galaxy s II. I think I'll wait and see but I definitely won't be upgrading from my iphone 4 to the 4s.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus looks good but I'm not sure if it's coming to the UK.

The Galaxy S2 HD is even more evolved with a screen that is bigger, highest mobile resolution, and as dense as retina. This is the one that the Prime seems to be based on.

Drops right into the shopping cart at Apple.com with Applecare+.

It's tough to get the message straight at the AT&T/VZW/etc. stores (similar to Rolex's challenge).
