Help Advice Please!! Rolex Oysterdate Precision 1968

Hi, I am looking very seriously at a Rolex Oysterdate Precision. 1968 I think owing to the case number. 6694 movement. Just one thing. The dial seems different to some other precisions I have seen. Also, the R on the rolex catches my eye. Am I being alarmist? Eveything else, including the movement is kosher and there is no reason for this seller to tell me lies, but I have not seen a dial exactly like this. I am actually quite new to this game and would like an experts opinion on the dial. Other than that I am completely satisfied with the watch and the price.

Looks fine to me slight camera distortion,not very often you see any fake vintage ODPs.And the Rolex manual wind calibre 1215/25 movements are often regarded as one of the most durable movements ever made by Rolex.

I have a 6694, yours looks absolutely authentic.

The most common thing that could be done with a watch that old is a refinished dial, especially if it had been looking very worn/old.

Also a 40-50 year old may have had the bracelet replaced, as a broken down bracelet doesn't have much use.

But, I did a good bit of shopping around before I got mine and that dial looks like several I saw in the 6694 style.

I'm no expert, but I think if the dial is refinished, its a lot better than being replaced with an aftermarket, and with that style I don't think there is that much demand for aftermarket dials.

If it worries you that much you could have it sent into a Rolex Service Center and have the dial replaced with a new authentic Rolex dial. Or just have them authenticate the one you have.

"Precision" is seldomly copied, and besides that is looks like the "Real McCoy" to me

Looks good to me too, i know the owner of exoticwatches.net and all his watches are authentic,

if you truely wonder still on your watch, you may send me movement photos or more close ups, and i can ask him. or you can contact him via his site but im not sure philippe will have time to answe this kind of question.
