Icon14 Amy Winehouse

Anyone here know of this superb talent? 23 yrs old, from England. Has some serious addiction problems but more raw talent in one finger than most artists could dream of.

I have her lastest CD and love it. I made the mistake of reading the Rolling Stone interview of her which made her sound more like Britney Spears but I love her voice. If she can keep it together she could be something very special.

I really love Amy Winehouse's songs. Some of them are really soulful and very jazzy, some are more uptempo a bit.

Another good artist is of course Lily Allen! Some of her songs are pretty catchy and have a good beat. Lily Allen wears Rolex watches too! I have seen pictures of her sporting a TT Datejust and a YG Day Date. She is actually wearing a Rolex in her music videos too. You can see it in the first link at the beginning of the song, she wears what looks like a Datejust. Its super fast so you might have to pause it to catch it.

Both Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse are two of my favorite artists to come from the UK right now.

She's a great singer IMO.

Pretty ironic though. She sings "They try to make me go to rehab I say no no no"

Guess where she is now

You guys should get her first cd, more bluesy, nice titles too - "F**k me pumps" springs to mind for some reason

Track 6 on the latest CD is great. She's very self-destructive though and sadly may go the route of Hendrix, Morrison, Joplin, etc.,

Glad to see some Amy Winehouse fans here. I have her Back to Black CD, don't know whether its is the first or the second but its kicks serious butt.

Winehouse and Paolo Nutini (and in a lesser extent Lilly Allen) are giving the Britts some serious credibility in the talent arena. I am enjoying their music endlessly. A much welcomed change from the talentless and overproduced bald bimbos.

Its intersting that that these artists are global now.

Back to black is Ms Winehouse's second album, the first is titled 'FRANK'. its a lot more jazz and blues than the second.

Her third album is due in a couple of months, i think its going to be titled 'Maximum'

Lilly allen, is the daughter of a well known actor (Keith Allen), I don't think she is taked as such a tallent as Amy because people think she's where she is through her father.

I like them both, but think Amy Wimehouse has more staying power, and is more charismatic. One of her gigs was broadcast on TV a month or so ago, she was magnificent.

Just a shame she has cancelled her gigs and is in rehab, irony in there somewhere i think.
