The second hand, does it normally twitch?

I noticed one of my customers had a Rolex Yachtmaster on and as I was examining it, I noticed the second hand was twitching while it went around. Is it supposed to be like this? I think a real one is supposed to SMOOTHLY go around the dial? Is this a way to tell if it was fake or not?

Yes..A Rolex "twitches" 8 times per second.. (or 28,800 beats per hour)

NICE shot, Larry!

Well, if the second's hand is "twitching" in ONE-second-intervals, it is a quartz movement and therefore a fake (although Rolex DID make quartz watches, yet not in the YM case).

I agree. Up close you should be able to see the seconds hand quickly ticking. As you move further from the dial the seconds hand will appear smoother.
