Go Pats

How many people are from Boston and are big Pats and Red Sox fans ?

The Patriots have a very easy 4 or 5 weeks ahead of the them:

Chiefs
Eagles
Colts
Redskins
Bronco's

I grew up in West Roxbury

I was a huge Pats fan 2 weeks ago--I was so happy with the way they played that week and will root for them to play the same way if we meet again!

Don't you mean three weeks ago? IDK <<shrug>> cause the last time we lost to the towel-wavers on Halloween we won the super-bowl, I'd take that!

Yes--3 weeks ago it was...Sorry my bad. As for the last time Pats lost to the Black and Gold on Halloween--it did result in last Pats Lombardi--I remember it well!

I am quite sure we will meet again in the playoffs and look forward to another great football game!

Boston had a nice run with all their championships. That run is likely over. I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted.

27 of these by only one NY team is many more than all of Beantowns teams combined in Championships. The chowdaheads will never surpass NY in hats on the wall. The Giants Superbowl win over the "undefeated" pattys was extra sweet hat on da wall. Let him pull out his immature peeing monkey 27 times for these.

Well first let me correct your math, you spoke without actually checking your facts so since you brought the number of championships

World Championship Totals:
Cetics = 17
RedSox = 7 including the first World Series in 1903
Bruins = 6
Patriots = 3
Using a calculator that total seems closer to 33 then the 26 you assumed, correct me if I'm wrong...

Now as to pissing on your trophies, never that's disrespectful

Now if I were comparing those championship to NY's based on number of teams and the population of Massachusetts vs. the population of NY the winning percentage per-capita I'd take MA.

Yes the Yankee championships in 77, 78, 96, 98, 99, 00, and 09 are so 30s and 40s. Remind us Yankee fans again when was the last time Boston won a WS before 2004?

There is nothing better than the who is better NYC or Boston as a sports town argument. Hands down two of the best sports towns in the country with very avid fans. Here is a little run down of all the NY championships over the years including championships from the old days (we are including the Sox chmpionships from the 1900s and the 1950/60s Celtics):

New York Yankees 27
New York Mets 2
New York Giants 5
Brooklyn Dodgers 1
New York Football Giants 7 (3 Superbowl and 4 NFL Championships)
New York Jets 1
New York Knicks 2
New York Rangers 4
New York Islanders 4

That is 53 World Championships for one of the greatest cities in the world.

OK, my math was a little off. Add in the other trophys by NY teams and back on top. Not gonna bother debating populations, per capita ratios ya ya.
Pissing on someones user name is OK though, thats not disrepectful right? Stay classy.

hijacking? He made a post that brought up NY. thats always going to evoke a reply.
Besides, it an open forum. Gonna talk about sports you're going to get some members of other teams chiming in. Dont want to hear what others have to say, send a pm or pick up a phone. Friendly back and forth makes it much more interesting.Especially in the best rivalry in sports towns. Thats what makes sports great. Being in arizona it seems you dont understand that.

Good old days? 09 was a good old day. So long ago.
A pic from my seat Game VI 09. So long ago I can barely remember.

Agreed, it was disrespectful to piss on your username, but believe it or not it was all done in fun. So since I was the one to cross the line I apologize.

Yes NY has a storied past, but they have been very lucky, as have the Boston fans of late. If you are an Eagles fan, a Cubs fan or a Vikings fan you look at our bickering and you want to shoot lasers through the computer at us and shut us up.

Neither of us is going to start rooting for the other ones teams, but we can respect each other as viable opponents and to that end I again apologize for my pee pee squirrel.

Completely agree. I feel so sorry for my wife. She is a Cubs fan. Born and raised in Chicago. I see her dreams crushed year after year.

Accepted, thank you. It sometimes gets heated and I've been known to cross the line on occasion. No harm, no foul.

Eagles/Giants rivalry is on par with Yanks/Sox. Usually not as friendly though. It often gets rather ugly. Going to enemy territory is challenging. Wont go into details though.

Some of the best games I've been to were in Fenway. My buddies and I will take a road trip once a season or so and take in a NY/Bos game. We wear our full Yanks gear. We get there early to frequent the local bars behind the Monster. Never had a problem there at all. In fact, we are often treated to many beers by Sox fans before and during the game. I took a page out of that book and when I go to Yankee Stadium I'll buy some beers for Sox geared fans and have the usual back and forth with them.
