Last weekend!
Ekenäs, Finland. My hometown. It's a small town of 16.000 inhabitants, my Wife is from Helsinki (where we also live) but she wanted a country style wedding. (traditionally in Finland you get married in the brides hometown)

ours was a bit on the unusual, more casual side.
40degrees, only the very close family, parents and siblings, no tuxedo or fancy dress, a la carte lunch at a very good restaurant and a game of footy later to see my favourite team vs the team my brother-in-law played for that time.

I have always preferred a stick stuck in my eye than be married. Who knows that might all change with the current. She is giving me the "Come to Jesus" speech here soon I can feel it. Ultimatum is coming.

/\ ..it isnt as 'bad' as you may think... Seriously. Come on now, if you love her..and she loves you.. than That is what really matters. All else can be worked out if you're both willing to work at it.. Not 50/50.. but 100/100% -
Personally.. I wouldn't have it any other way..and couldn't see my life being complete, without my Better half at my side.......... But yeah, Im a sentimentalist....and love being married to my Jannet..! Who else would be able to put up with me....LOL..|!

Having said that I don't have any wedding pictures. My wife and I decided to head to Vegas and get married without any family. It was just us and we still talk about how glad we both are that we didn't bother with a big wedding. It just wasn't for us. We too the money we would have spent on a wedding and we bought our first Rolexes. We did end up having a wedding celebration 6 months later in my homestate of Montana. We invited her family out to Montana to spend four days with my family and we had a nice dinner one night in addition to two nights of BBQing. During the day we took everyone hiking, white water rafting and sightseeing in Yellowstone National Park. It was an amazing time for both families and no stress of a wedding. |

Gary, I'm with you. Weddings are a huge expense. In retrospect I'd much rather have had the money it cost.

Same here. would rather have done it small and saved that money. but wow, what a day it was. New Orleans weddings never let you or your guests down.

agree. love marriage, hate weddings. i guess it was a good sign that we totally agreed with my wife on not wasting money, time and energy on a big event we opted for some honeymoons instead. oz, sa and a few european city breaks that year.
