16710 & 16570 Bezel Interchange?
I was just checking out the "Modified Rolex" thread, where I saw some examples of using an Explorer II dial (16570) with a Pepsi Bezel.
To make this brief. 1.) Can a 16710 (GMT Master II) Bezel Assembly be fitted to a 16570 (Explorer II) case? Is the mid-case the same? 2.) -or- Do you need to start with a 16710, and do a Dial Swap from the 16570? Thanks! |

You'd have to use the watch with the bezel you want (Pepsi)
and put an Exp II dial on this Frankenstein you're making. Rolex would not EVER touch the final product in case that you are wondering about having a RSC work on it in the future. |

Hmm, I was hoping for simple bezel swaps. Can anyone else confirm? There seems to be a few white dialed, pseudo-Pan-Am, modern GMT-Explorer II mash-ups in the mod thread.
As far as RSC, for me, they only come into play when the watch is under warranty. Otherwise, I do my own work, or have my AWCI Watch Smith with a Rolex Parts account do my servicing. |
