How stupid Is This?

Burger King advert 'offencive to cows'
(Filed: 17/11/2005)

An advert featuring a cow wearing a Burger King logo has provoked more than 70 complaints, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has said.

The industry watchdog has launched an investigation after viewers said that the commercial was distasteful and cruel.

It shows a cow walking along in a field wearing a Burger King-branded blanket.

The commercial is for the fast food chain's £1.99 baguettes which come in a range of fillings including barbecue beef.

An ASA spokeswoman said: "Viewers found the fact that the advert conveys that the cow is going to become a burger distasteful. They said it was exploitation of an animal."

Seventy-six people have complained about the advert.

Burger King said in a statement: "Our latest advertising campaign was intended to be light hearted and not to cause offence to anyone."

Well I don't Bloody Believe it. P/Correct gone completely moo moo

Well, I'm bloody stunned. Imagine that, cows being turned into burgers? What the hell do these bloody morons think a burger is made from? Strawberries?

It's bleeding cow, you cloth-eared dim witted moronic imbecilic idiots

Yes, believe it or not, thats what they make burgers out of.{well thats what they tell us}

Jesus, it's like people look at a nicely vacuum-wrapped Tesco's Finest steak and think, "oh how nice, a piece of meat magically appeared". No, you ars#hol#s, someone killed a cow for that. And those lamb chops? those were actually once fluffy little lambkins.

The last time I had fast food burger, I swear the paltry offering 'meat content looked and' consisted entirely of pig scrotum, oxtail, and the scrapings from the pubic region of a geriatric sheep with rickets.
If these P/C and [ASA] have there way, looks like it might be a Vegan Xmas, please pass the plastic turkey and have some seaweed gravy.

The last time I had a fast food burger (two nights ago) I looked all over for real, 100% beef, but I never did find any.

I'm sure BK's burgers are somewhat beef-based, but I agree Peter that anyone who complains about that advert is a frickin' hipocryte. The fact that it would garner as much media attention as it has proves that anything can make headlines on a slow news day.

Wait till these same idiots start suing people for breathing air. We are destroying the atmosphere by breathing, so we should all be enjoined from breathing and ruining the air.

I almost didn't enjoy my prime rib last night at my wife's company Xmas party......okay, that's a lie. If we aren't supposed to eat cows, why are they so tasty?
