16110 LV Advice
Hello everyone,
Hope you are all well. I am keen to pull the trigger on this: http://www.officialwatches.co.uk/rol...-16610-lv/1820 I am no expert but does everything seem in order with an LV from 2008 - ie no rehaut engraving, dial and box etc.... In addition I have the option of purchasing a 'flat 4' model from 2004 for £4750, is it worth paying more for this version?? Thanks in advance for your assistance and thoughts / comments. |

Just saying. That is not a flat 4. On the warranty paper it says "14060M" which is a no date Sub. And that watch is not from 2008 as indicated in the ad. Just saying.

Have you seen these watches in person?
If not, I wouldn't trust those pictures, because they look highly tweaked and as noted above the papers don't match the watch.

Lume seems patina'd more than a 4 year old watch...

Thanks chaps.
I haven't seen the watch in person so this may be poorly executed photography / marketing. I will take your advice on board and feed back once I have seen the watch. I have the option of buying a flat 4 elsewhere as mentioned above, are these any rarer and will they hold there value better if so. I am most certainly not buying an LV as an 'investment' ( I agree with the prevailing sentiment on this forum that modern rolexes will most likely not realise an actual roi) It would however be nice to know I owned something a little more collectible than a standard post 2004 LV. Thanks again for your help and advice. |

In addition to what has been mentioned the box is suspect to me.

Wrong box, wrong paperwork...
Doesn't really say much for the put-together package, so I would say it was overpriced and perhaps other things are not as they are supposed to be..

Think about what makes you happy about a watch as well.

Relax.
Maybe I didn't articulate myself well enough. I for one couldn't give a hoot about the shape of a number on a bezel insert. I do however unfortunately have to keep in mind the potential to resell a watch without taking too much of a hit. I was under the impression from what I have read that the 'flat 4' y series was slightly more desirable because it was the first in the run and was released on or around the actual 50th year anniversary of the sub. May I also take this opportunity to complement everyone on their great looking lv's in this thread - the nato looks fantastic. |

I think the rarest LV is the one that is still BNIB at an AD ... anyone know of one?

I was in London about a month ago and saw one in Bond street, pre-owned for 5900 SP. Granted the price was probably a bit high due to location, this one is cheap enough to make me suspicious.

I saw one 5 months ago in Beaumont, TX. Don't remember the name of the AD but there is only 2 in town if you look it up on Rolex.com. Best price was $5700 (don't ask why I didn't buy it!)
