After reading about the various watches that catch your eye, I think you should start saving for the Full Gold. There really is nothing like buying one of these watches after years of work and planning - they come to represent so much more than just a time piece on your wrist. I don't know that your itch will ever be satisfied, but I see you happiest with Full Gold.

What I would do if I was in your shoes is I'd keep the LV, dump the Breitlings, and get a GMTC TT. The LV will remain soughted out and you will regret it. I'm 29 and both my TTs have enough gold in them for me to be satisfied. I love my TTs because it has the perfect balance of class and sport. Wanted a full gold Rolex at one point of my life but I realized that it would be a bit too much for me and attract unwanted attention. Be patient and the time will come at one point of your life for a full gold Rolex. Just to convince you. Here are my babies:

Well I for one am a fan of yellow gold so I would sacrifice a lot for a Two-Tone GMT (or an all-gold one but let's not go there...). Having said that I must say I'm not the biggest fan of the LV (don't hate me guys!) so I would probably flip it for the Two-Tone.

Of course it remains your choice Dino! You can also get a Two-Tone Breitling if you only want some gold (aren't they a bit cheaper?)!

Seems corny, but they kind of sum up the essence of learning to appreciate a great watch you already have. For most of us, flipping disease sets in badly, and when you undertstand how it works, it becomes pretty obvious: the best watch is the one we don't have, the grass is always greener somewhere else, and as soon as we have the mythic NEXT THING, we soon get bored and want the next thing after that, and on and on. It's the chase that keeps us excited, much less than the object of desire...because once we have it, the thrill wears off and we want something new to hunt for.

So, how can we fight it? You have to really look at something you have that you KNOW you love (like your LV-C) and remember all the reasons you love it and were interested in it to begin with. Think closely about that, and things start to come into focus. I won't get into the respective merits of GMT vs Sub, steel vs 2-tone or similar things as they aren't really the issue here. Its more about the psychology of novelty and how it titillates our evil WIS brains.

The point is you have a great watch that works beautifully for you and your lifestyle. Keep it, bond with it, and save to get your 18K grail down the road.

This sounds like good advice for your situation. Your LV-C watch is hard to get and you should hang on to it. All your other watches seem like you can get them again, so this time around find something that you keep coming back to and get that one. Take some time with your decision.

When I was about to graduate HS, I wanted a nice watch and was tired of surfer watches breaking every six months. I have wanted a TT blue sub since I was probably 7 or 8 yr old, but it wasn't in my price range then. I couldn't afford a Rolex at 17, except maybe an AirKing (which is a great watch, but not what I wanted - don't buy what you don't want!), so I went with the Omega SMP that I kept coming back to. I didn't like the waves at first, but I wanted the TT blue dial SUB...but the waves grew on me and after several visits to the AD over the course of a couple months, I bought the Omega. Some close contenders were some Seikos. In hind sight, they only get more expensive, get the solid gold ASAP.

Gte the solid gold. Don't buy anything else to to curb the want, it will just get worse, and you will have wasted money on another watch, its easy to buy a watch at an AD, but flipping is a pain. Just save or sell LV and others and get 116718.

and waited some more before i got it at the right price. if you keep the LV & save the cash for a TT & then save some more you can eventually flip the TT for the big one.....i mean, how good does the Green look....you know you'll miss it

I bought quite a lot of watches last year as part of a New Year Resolution to do so. But as I bought more and more, I felt I lost the feeling of really savouring and enjoying those watches since as soon as I had bought one, I was immediately searching for the next.

I have now decided to slow down and enjoy what I have and will take a time out to enjoy them as they were meant to be. I will also evaluate what I really want next rather than rushing on to the next purchase.

Now clearly, I know this will be difficult especially as I already want a JLC Deep Sea Tribute, a early 60's mint 5512, a panda AP, Patek Nautilus ....... The list just never stops growing and my decision to have restraint is made even more difficult as I could start to get them from a financial point of view. It is just my feeling that I have not fully enjoyed and savoured what I have bought already, that is holding me back....

But I went many years with just a few nice watches and I can certainly last a while longer now I have a box full

So Dino just chill out and let that urge to continually buy another watch subside a little...... until you know what you really want...... plus spend a little bit of that hard earned on some ladies You've got the car, the clobber, a few very nice watches..... get out there and spread a little love

how many breitlings do you have at the moment? i guess if you hadn't bought those, you could easly have at least the tt on your wrist.
i approve any flip as long as it involves getting rid of the breitlings and getting any rolex and leaves out that gorgeous lvc.

Dino, as a well practiced flipper I'll say that once you start you can't stop. Once I''ve decided to get rid of a watch I can't stand wearing it at all. If you're not sure I'd advise to wait a bit.

Dino, while i don't have the an answer for your dilemma, something inside of me made my head kick to one side and an eye brow go up when I read that you might trade your LV-C. I know how much you love that watch, i don't think now is the time to sell it.

What happonds next is a sure thing...you will be really happy with both for a while but you will be keeping an eye out for your next conquest and lust...
That's the hard part about this hobby!
I have both the lv-c , the tt gmt-c and two beautiful daytonas..and even with my collection, I actually, for a short time considered flipping two or three of them for a full gold gmtc..Luckily I took a deep breath and was able to shake it off. Had I not, I would have made an irreversible mistake..not that I don't love full gold, its just that I put so much effort into attaining what I now have, only to flip it all away on a whim..
If at some point later on I still want an all gold model then I will be able to get it, but not on a spontaneous whim...
