Need help identifying a watch...
I assume this is the right place to post; I wouldn't know because I hardly ever leave the Open Discussion forum
Anyway, my grandfather gave me this watch the other night. I don't think there is anything special about it (other than the sentimental value of course), but it is a pretty cool older piece. I've looked everywhere for information on it and have come up short. Any ideas? |

Hi Jason,
Looks like one of those old Yamaha Quartz watches. Carl, our in-house quartz watch specialist, will be along directly to discuss this one in microscopic detail. Until then don't wash your hands while wearing it. Welcome to the Forum.

Is there a problem with Quartz watches? I seem to be catching flak from everyone I show the piece to!

There is no problem at all with Quartz! Let's just say they're not everyone's favorite movement around here. As stated above, this watch seems quite nice but I'm afraid I've never seen something like this before (the fact that I'm far from being an expert might explain why). Did you try to put a new battery in? Depending on where it was stored I guess it may not work anymore but I would personally give it a try.

Little update: I tried as much as I could to find some information but could come across anything. Perhaps this watch is an unknown model in all the timepieces the humanity owned!
Don't worry though, if it works I'm sure it will make an excellent beater and I hope you'll have fun playing with those options!

No problem with quartz watches - I have about 50 of them.
