Just a little more of the Red Submariner>>>
Here you can follow the hands and crystal change, and
he have got some light polish. The serial nr says he was made in 1971 and the backcase says IV72 and look at the 8 it looks like it´s upside down. Just enjoy the tour. [img]http://www.vikbobil.se/1680113.jpg"> Jocke |

Nice pics Jocke! Question: how come you have 3 little O-rings inside the backgasket (besides the outer tube gasket)? I thought the case tube only had 2 gaskets??
Anyhow, I asked this question on the other thread as well... How much does a watch like that sell for nowadays? Thanks!

So what is the difference between a trip lock and a twin lock, is it just a hacking feature? or something to do with the date change

Aint it possible to make a sticky with reviews of books on rolex?
And maybe an updated list every once in awhile? Seen these on other forums (but for any brand) and are a great asset for newbies as well as seasoned collectors. The page of a book Jocke posted with the twin and triplock crowns shown are priceless for instance. I bought books just for one page in em |

Thanks Mike v.interesting. So from that I assume it's just sealing feature, ie you get a better seal with a trip lock?

1953--First Submariner with small crown and twinlock 1954--WR was increased to 200M, still with using twinlock 1959--Introduced 8MM crown-twinlock 67-70 SD model with first Triplock (3 o-rings, two in stem one in crown) Late 70s--newer crown with increased height to fit external o-ring. While the new crown and tube were capable of handling increased WR the rest of the watch has to match. |

Sensational photos Jocke, I love the deep vibrant coloured detail of the movement and the internal finishing of the Sub.
