LV will be harder and harder to get nice examples of, so, if you think you will be getting it some day, pick it up. that being said, since you have a GMTIIc, the daytona will feel more "different".

good luck with this tough choice!

Between the two the LV would be my choice.

The LV is unique among modern references in that it's the only Sub to combine the maxi dial with the classic case. That the watch was issued to comemorate 50 years of the Submariner places it in rare atmosphere.

It seems the LV valuation has gone up quite a bit in the resent past and one wonders what future valuation will be given the restricted numbers of the reference compared to the traditional black version.

Additionally the use of a black insert gives the reference a versatility that other references don't have (save the GMT).

I would agree with those that feel the subdials of the Daytona are hard to read. Such was my experience. Additionally I found the Daytona wore smaller than it's 40mm size indicated. Does that make it bad? Of course not. The Daytona has perhaps the finest chronograph movement made and certainly has a cult like following.

One does have to wonder how many Daytonaa are out there compared to LVs and given the LV is no longer made how easy nice examples are going to be to find in the future (at least at sane pricing).

Either way you won't go wrong, but if I had to have ONE diver in a collection the LV stands alone (modern).

I'll get the Sub first, as I think the LV will be harder to find down the road, as you mentioned you would like to get both eventually.
