Rolex Submariner on Vintage Strap
Not sure anything can beat the classic 93150 bracelet, but if you're trying to mix it up a little, I love these vintage suede straps. Completely transforms the watch. Fun stuff!

Thanks, guys. I got lucky that the ivory stitching matches the tritium patina. It's also the most comfortable strap I've ever had. Strap swapping is the one thing I wish was more a part of the Rolex watch culture. Sure, there's a little, and many people love nylon/NATOs. But there's not nearly the same enthusiasm as for Panerai straps, for example. Especially with lug holes on vintage Rolexes, it's so easy to swap bands. All that said, the stainless bracelets are still my favorite.

hey aaron , looking good !!!
trust me from the numbers that have gone out ...and the state of the strap makers nerves ..i can tell you it really it is now part of vintage Rolex culture a lot more than it ever has been. the Italians are as usual a few years ahead of us , attend any of the big meets or auctions and none wear oysters ... some just seem to like creating their own unique look ......some certainly like to take the vintage notion of a less in your face Rolex that step further and tone it down just a few more notches ...and unfortuantely it really is the reality that for many , the epidemic of watch snatching in Europe has made people look for alternatives ....apparently the professional crews who steal day in day out can spot an oyster bracelet at 50 paces , undo it and slide it off your wrist before you even notice :(..... Unfortunately Roger is still getting over the loss of his 6263 screw pusher PN last year in Ibiza ...the thieves wouldn't have known it was a valuable piece ...and in fact he's back on the island and recently spoke to a guy who was offered it 20 mins after the theft on a street corner for 2k :(...with these gangs apparently working organised out of mainland Italy ...maybe that is why the Italians are so far ahead of us not just their natural sense of style ....... ps. a Naples guy explained that the reason so many italians wear their watches on right wrist is so they dont get snatched out the car windows in traffic !!!!!!...the new trick is to burn you with a cigareet on the left wrist though and snatch the watch when you reach over to your burnt hand !!!!!!!!....really makes you stop and think ! |

what a great look.
I have a '68 5513 and I have put the original bracelet away for safekeeping. I wear mine on a nato but am looking at buying a few straps for it. Where did you get that one from if you dont mind saying? |

Beautiful suede strap. I have a vintage leather and Horween Shell Cordovan from Jedly1 and the straps are outstanding. No one better to work with than Jedly1!

Jed Strap
I bought from Jed. I have the strap on and need to get better photos, but here it is. Wonderful sale for a cool strap. Would buy from Jed again without question. Just too bad I can't afford another vintage yet! I'd snag a red 1680, 5512, 5513 or maybe something different. I cant stop this bug. Thanks Jed! Rich

Looks great!
I think vintage Rolexes and Tudor Subs look great on straps, and indeed, that's how I wear my 7928:
I'm also a big fan of NATOs: (I'll be picking up a blue suede strap for the Snowflake from the same fellow who made the strap for my 7928 next week.) Regards, Adam |

Big fan of strap/bracelet swapping. Funny, because I was off vintage for a few cycles before this 1675 came along. The first time I went to swap, I was fiddling with a strap tool and trying to slide it between the lug and the strap. It was being fussy, but then I remembered ... lug holes! Done in a flash.
