Short Pants
I dont want to wear Magnum PI style shorts but I HATE all this short pant that drops below the knees....I feel like why bother, might as well wear long ones.
Its getting hard to find short that come to just about the knee anything else bothers me. Of couse Im an old baby boomer and the ones going down mid calf look horrible to me....Just ordered some from the Gap online last week and have to take them back....well the wife will take them back for me. |

Try these. I'd recommend the "trailhead".

Try looking in a golf shop for nice shorts. Most courses don't allow shorts that go below the knees

Basic cargo shorts. Not sure if that makes them too long or not but since I'm on the heavier side they're the ones I prefer.

Tommy Bahamas and Brooks Brothers. For fishing and boating my Columbia PFG shorts and my AFTCO shorts with built in D rings to clip in a fighting harness work awesome. I wear them casually on the weekend too. Come a few inches above my knees. Perfect.

Same problem.
"Shorts" in the proper term is hard to find these days. Lacoste usually has the proper ones.

This forum continues to amaze me.
I can't believe sometimes how much the members here are thinking about the same things in the same way that I am. I was just out yesterday looking for new shorts…to replace a pair of Ralph Lauren cargo shorts (A1) that go just to the knee and finally have gone over the hill. I don't want to go too long, but I love the roomy feel and the pockets are so large, I can carry just about anything Sharon asks, so she can leave her purse behind when we go for walks. I was reluctant to buy another pair that is too long…but I have to confess, these are so breezy and comfortable, and the nice thing about the length is that I don't have to worry about my ugly white pegs getting a sunburn. I hunted but didn't buy anything yesterday…still looking….and will absolutely shop the suggestions mentioned here...
