Not exactly a Superhero but my personal favorite is Virgil Tracy, pilot of "Thunderbird 2".

Can you really argue that any superhero is someone that the typical guy can identify with?

As far as Batman...if he had grown up as a normal person then he would never have become Batman...he would simply have been Bruce Wayne. I doubt that would have sold many comic books.

This is actually the central theme from a number of comics.
Eric from “A God Somewhere” and Dr Manhattanfrom “watchmen” come to mind.

What no one likes Captain Planet or the Power Rangers......

In all reality I'm a Superman or Batman fan. Can't forget the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a kid.

Most superheroes struggle to try to remain "human" despite being given superhuman powers (usually by accident). The central theme is about that struggle.

Bruce Wayne, on the other hand, is a sociopath. He hates people. He can't stand being outside without his mask on. He wasn't given any powers by accident. He invented Batman to get revenge on the people who hurt him. He undermines the government (and society), deciding to wipe out crime himself rather than using his money to support the systems in place. And he's entrenched in one city's problems when he could do so much more helping solve world problems (he's a billionaire, after all). He's a pathetic trust fund kid with serious psychological issues, inept in business, and incapable of dealing with life.

Batman has the personality traits of most comic book villains. He's not an admirable person. He tries to do what he considers "right", but he does it in the wrong way, and for the wrong reasons.
