Why, two eggs with bacon and fruits, of course! That's the type of conversation I'd like to have with a jail guard if I was on death row!

Despite how gloomy a discussion this is, it is interesting to know the origins of "the last meal" and how it became a procedure in the US in particular.
I do not believe this happens anywhere else.

I can't imagine that I'd have much of an appetite, but some green chile and chicken enchiladas and some iced tea would be good.

I'll play as I like this thread. I'd have to go with a wet aged bone in Ribye or filet (tough choice) a boiled lobster and scalloped potatoes. Useful trivia the most requested meal is a burger and fries with a beer but many prisons won't allow the beer. I saw that in Maxium. I guess if I'd been locked up for 15-20 years the burger might top the steak. I don't know how I could even eat though. |

You know, I really don't know what I would want, probably just some fresh warm bread with butter and a bottle of red wine, but do you think I could dine "al fresco"? I want to get a little bit of air before I die. Set up that bistro table outside the jail, and I will head out in my stripes for my last meal haha

Looks like a good plate of your beans and bacon mix will be handy!

Now, if alcohol were allowed as part of a last meal, then we'd be talking.

I think the right question you can ask is not "what" you would eat, but "who" you would dine with.
