Mine just sits on the dresser. Haven't had a problem in 10+ years...

most of my watches are on a tray in a safe. others are on a winder (complicated pieces that i am too lazy to set), but generally speaking i never keep my watches in the original box.

I first clean it after each use, then dry it off with my special Rolex micro-fiber cloth. After that I put it a sun glass case type pouch and wrap in bubble wrap. Then it's put in my storage box for the next morning. Pretty much sums it up for caring.

Anywhere on my dresser, bathroom counter, bedside table, kitchen counter etc. I guess I'm saying no particular place just what's closest when I take it off. It's not going to get "hurt" if it doesn't have some Rolex "bed" to place it on.

Kitchen counter on a microsoft cloth. If I'm going to wear another watch, I place it in the other watch's spot in the watch case.

I rotate the watch and pens each week. The watch is on a soft cloth. The ones not being worn are in the boxes
