gift for my father
hi all!
it has been a while since i post a thread and i shouldve post this thread a few days ago to ask your opinion on what to get but meh.... just have a read anyway... i've just bought cartier roadster for my father's bday tomorrow ( i soo can't wait to see the look on his face) here's what's in my thought at the moment. do u think.....i have made the right decision with this cartier roadster....or should i exchange for rolex datejust ?. i saw this really stunning 36 mm datejust with dial that is similar as the platinum blue ice dial but silver...and roman numbers. the bracelet is oyster and it has a smooth bezel ( i cant seem to find a picture of it in the net). i've tried both of them on and they look equally stunning but the 2 are very different look that in the end i felt there was no point trying to compare it. in terms of look, i prefer this roadster by miles.... but i cant stop thinking whether i shouldve got the rolex instead. i've got a feeling that my fatehr will like the datejust size better as he has relatively slender wrist.... but likign the look of the cartier well i guess i will find out tomorrow when i give it to him whether he likes it or prefers the rolex instead. untill then....this really kills me!! what do u guys think?....the roadtser is a beauty dont u think ? |

I've loved the Roadster ever since Chris wore one on the Sopranos. Hard to say whats best for dad though.
Your a good son either way. dP

Hey Marz
I'm not a huge Cartier fan, BUT that one looks pretty neat. DJ is a great watch, but very common. But, being a Rolex guy, I'll still go Rolex. Either way, I'm sure your Dad is gonna be stoked. John. |

Wow, what a beautiful gift to give! Your dad will be thrilled.
Cartier is a fine watch. I wore a Tank Francais for 7 years! I love the Roadsters as well...only you know your dad best. Let him decide. Two wonderful choices indeed! Let us know which he prefers! |

My father-in-law has the Roadster. He loves it, but it has a more elegant look to it: Bling, bling, as the kids say. I'm hoping to inherit this someday. It will complement my Rolex.

heh...comes to think of it i probably should've posted this thread at non rolex part.
anyway...just a quick update.... gave the watch to dad this morning ...he was thrilled as!! but i think i was the one who's more excited giving it to him hahaha i've given him an explanation on how the DJ looks likes and he seems to be happy with the cartier. i love how you can change the bracelet to a strap without having to undo any screws. i might post a picture later on to show you all jac67: hi john! ...how's things ? ...hope you are well |

I honestly don't think that the make of the watch will matter nearly as much as the fact that it is a gift from you!
Your father is a lucky man...and you are a good son! Bottom line! Good job! |

Very nice looking time piece!
I made the descision to buy my father a watch for his birthday this year - it was a bad decision; he hated it. Hope your father likes his present better than mine did. |

Thats a really nice gesture - the thing is with presents, we always try to buy through our own eyes - Which isn't always the best way.
I'm sure he loves it and even more so, that it was a gift from his son. |
