Funny you say that, fresh laundry is a great smell, and I found these small Fabreze air fresheners that are great for small spaces like closets and bathrooms, and my favorite scent is the one that mimics Gain laundry detergent!

I actually keep one in my car and my car always smells like fresh laundry. :)

Picked up a huge 6.7oz bottle of Armani Acqua Di Gio at the mall the other day, they had a special running on it, $74, if im not mistaken retail on the 3.3oz is almost that much. It was a great deal, at Perfumania in case anyone's interested. I really like this one, light, citrus, just a little sweet, and that big bottle should last a long time.

I have turned to using essential oils and making my own blends.

In the mornings, I am currently enjoying a recipe of
5 drops tea tree,
5 drops spearmint, and
5 drops eucalyptus, which is added to 2 ounces of Organic Sweet Almond oil-
Perfect after gym & shower at home-

Afternoons I shift to a this blend which is added to Organic Sweet Almond Oil
40 drops vanilla precious essential oil
2 to 4 drops sweet orange essential oil
2 drops cardamom essential oil
10 drops rose absolute essential oil

In the evenings, I enjoy a Calming Mist Spray consisting of the following recipe
4 ounces water
20 drops lavender essential oil
20 drops geranium essential oil
20 drops clary sage essential oil

The original Polo green bottle for 32 years now. Constant comments from women in passing through the years, it just seems to work well with my body chemistry. Most importantly , I like the way it smells.

Besides for your stately moniker, there's something else I like about you.

I , too, dig Polo Green for decades.

The Royall colognes might be what you, Ari, may be looking for!

Mandarin, lime, or the obscure scent of Vertiver might be for you.

Hermes Orange Verte- nice light citrus scent, sporty summer scent
Acqua di Parma Cipresso Toscano - woodsy scent, reminds me of polo green, with an italian kick
Acqua di Parma Colonia intensa-for after dark.
Acqua di Parma classic - spicey warm scent that I like to wear in winter.

I splash on Bay Rum after I shave but when I'm out shopping with my wife, the Eau d'Orange is what I gravitate to if I'm going to purchase a cologne. It's just the best.

For the OP, the shelf life of opened colognes isn't that great and they'll all smell a little different once they mix with your own body chemistry. Step into a Sephora store and they usually have an entire wall of men's fragrances as well as testing papers and coffee beans to refresh your nose after smelling all the different choices. Good luck.

Cheers,

David

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Question on shelf life. Assuming you keep the bottle in your always air conditioned home, let's say 78 degrees with medium to low humidity, what shelf life should I expect?

The good news is, I wear cologne throughout the day and I seem to be rather liberal when I put it on, I find the smell wears off me in a few hours max. So, even that 6.7 oz. Armani I just got won't likely last more than 6 months.

Afternoon Ari,

That's just fine. Away from lots of sunlight in those conditions, it’ll last quite a while. Longer than the 6 months you’ve experienced. I’ve had some go bad because I don’t wear it very often. It's actually the fragrances with more "natural" ingredients that go south faster. Oils in the fragrance will start to turn before those that have higher alcohol content.

Cheers,

David

The original that comes in the clear bottle with gold accents. Very masculine. I get many compliments from men and women.

The one my dad wore (I don't know what it was, sorry!) when I was a child and he used to pick me up in his arms and hug me. He's gone, it's gone and life is poorer for it.

That having been said I do really like Woods Of Windsor...old fashioned, distinguished and manly - all the things I'd like to be.

Ideally though I'd prefer not to get compliments from men.

Of course there's always the possibility of switching teams and doubling your wardrobe!

Thanks David, just what I wanted to know. I'll have to make a point to use that huge 6.7 oz faster than the others just to be safe.

Chuck Norris cologne, it's made from his sweat. It's said to attract girls from miles away.
