Brandon, big congrats on your new watch...I have a special place in my heart for the No Date Subs. I have a 14060M-2 line(Non-COSC).....myself and wouldn't trade it for anything!!!
Btw. I got it at a great price back in February 2009.....

I didn't realize at first that you would need to trade the SD for it.....NO WAY! Keep the SD. You'll regret it.

Too late. Deal is done.

I think the ND looks clean, love it.
But having the date is useful to me...

I have owned (and flipped) the sub C date several times - I now have the new Sub C sans date and it is probably my all time favorite model.

Was that a typo? I think you said you own the new 114060.

I have to say, it is pretty epic. I see this model being a very sought after one. The watch is beautiful and balanced perfectly. I thought I would prefer the SubC date, but now I'm not so sure. I think I might prefer the no date version. Tough call. Both beautiful watches, but I'm pretty sold on his new ND. "Beautiful" is best way to describe it.

I have not personally seen one yet, and I'm longing for that day, but after seeing some shots from the field, I'm beginning to warm up to the look and accept the fact that the 114060 is the rightful successor to the 14060M and that it will become the standard for those who want a tool watch with roots going back to the original Submariner.

The story of the Submariner is the story of incremental cosmetic and mechanical improvements over the course of sixty years.

The 114060 has the requisite DNA.

I'm so glad I have my 14060M, but it's time we stepped into the 21st Century.

There's no going back.

Very well said. This model is still being released to the wild, but I have to tell you, I'm bet impressed. I never owned a 14060/M, although I'd handled them, in my opinion, this is the best they've ever done in that range. Bold statement, I know, but wait till you see it up close.

I'd like it a lot more if they could borrow the chamfered and more slender lugs from the Tudor Black Bay. Or the Explorer II 42 lugs. Otherwise, it's a great watch!

I say go for it. It is a modern classic. As far as it being a cult watch, all the ADs I talk to can't keep it in stock which makes it far from a cult watch.

Ohhh man. You haven't seen this new one. I'm telling you, I Always preferred models with a date in the past, but I'm telling you, this 114060 is INCREDIBLE.

I'm considering a SS sport model for my next purchase and i'm debating between ExpII, SubC, NDc, and GMTIIc. It's an amazingly hard decision because each one has it's own positives. IMO, the NDC is the best looking of the bunch. I think the GMTIIc has the best functions, but I'm not sold the look of the bezel or PCLs. The SubC has the amazing clasp and useful date function. The ExpII is nice, has great complications, is understated and a true beauty. Why is this such a hard decision?!

My only hesitation with the NDc is my previous watch also did not have a date and that drove me a little crazy. I'm not sure if the beauty of the NDc would help me get past the last of date fucntion; however, I'm sure you could flip it at not much of a loss if the lack of date turned out to be a big issue.

This is mine, I think it's the perfect daily wear watch. The dial is beautifully balanced. I've never been a fan of the cyclops, it part because it breaks the symmetry of the dial, but also because it has become so deeply engrained as a symbol of a Rolex amongst the public, so the absence of the cyclops makes it a bit less low key.

Congrats; wear it in good health. I think it's great. I have a 14060M and love it. If I don't have a DSSD,. I might be all over the 114060. Rugged, timeless, basic, elegant - it's a keeper!

I've gotta tell you, after going and looking at it on person, it's climbed a lot on my "list".

I've recently had opprotunity to deal my 16600/SD for one of these new badboys NIB and three days old. I'm thinking about going for it.

Thoughts on the 114060?
It's not a watch that I care to own.

Congrats on a fantastic watch.

I agree with Grady that the 114060 is more modern and is the rightful heir to the original Sub. I have yet to see one in the wild though. I guess I will have to go to an AD to check it out. In all honesty, it is growing on me over time.

If I could change one thing about it, it would probably be to go back to an aluminum bezel insert rather than the ceramic. Love the Maxi dial, hands, new clasp, etc.

Enjoy it!
