Antique Clocks?

Sorry if this if off topic, but can anyone recommend any good service center or website like this one for a couple of late 1800's wall and table top clocks I recently inherited? I want to have them looked at and serviced etc. I live in New York but would consider going out of state 3 or 4 hours. Thanks.

If you pack a clock correctly, you can ship it anywhere. I'm sorry I can't suggest someone up there, but I do know a guy in In Austin that is as good as they come. He is also very passionate about his work, and can fix any type as far as I know.

I shipped a mantle clock to him from here, which is about five hours away. The most important thing is preserving the glass and chimes. Everything else is easy, but these two things are critical. Whaever you do, research the clockmaker. If you have a local guy offering to get them running for a 100.00 each or less, keep looking. It takes a lot of work and about 400.00 to fully service a simple mantle clock with three different chimes. I learned this the hard way. Please feel free to PM me if I can help.

Sorry, I didn't get it. Maybe something wrong with Pm's right now? Anyone else having trouble?

Mike- I am going to check your guy out, I need to learn about them too so having someone face to face is going to help me a lot.
