I am very strongly considering a Rolex as my first luxury watch and I really like the simplicity of the Oyster Perpetual or the Air King, but with no dates on them. I feel the numbers and magnifier detract from the overall sleek look I'm looking for. I prefer the jubilee band over the oyster band, but I can live with it. So my question is what is the difference between the oyster perpetual and the air king? Rolex.com does not delve into details. BTW I live in North Houston so if anyone can recommend a good authorized AND reputable dealer that would be helpful. I went to jewelry store to browse and noticed that none of the ones they had there included the holo sticker on back. Has rolex discontinued that? I'm essentially looking for an oyster perpetual or air king with black or dark-colored face, perhaps the glow in the dark points instead of roman numerals, all stainless...what am I looking for as far as price? Just a ballpark figure would be helpful, thank you in advance for any assistance or advice.

Welcome, the 'oyster perpetual' is like a Date-Just without the date. I believe that Rolex no longer makes simply 'oyster perpetual' as a model anymore at least in a full mens size.
I think you might really be referring to a Date-Just and the Air-King.
The Air-King is 34mm and the Date-Just 36mm.
However the Date-Just is with the cyclops which I see you don't like.
I'm not to sure about price in your parts but new from an AD you might need to budget at around $4,000.
My personal recommendation would be a black dial Turn-O-Graph with black dial and jubilee bracelet. However that will cost a bit more.
Also you might want to consider an Explorer (without date) as this is a 36mm watch which wears and looks fabulous.

Welcome to TRF!

The Oyster Perpetual (OP) is indeed still made, yet in an updated version like the Air-King (AK). There is not much difference between those two models apart from the AK saying "Air-King".

Personally, I'd go for the AK.
