I can't actually see how you believe that 40mm is too small, i have worn Rolex sports watches for more years than i care to remember; Subs, Daytona's, as well as an Explorer1 and a Datejust, i am over 6 feet tall and 15 plus stone with 8 inch wrists and i can honestly say that each watch has always looked and felt right on my wrist.

PS. my constant daily wear is a Sea Dweller, and has been for the last ten years.

Sadly Rolex are going in a different direction in terms of design and vintage revivals.

That said, I don't think we will be seeing a tricolor PN dial with the ceramic bezel.

Or will we?

He said the watch was unisex which isn't a sex. It's a term that refers to something being suitable for both genders.

How many women wear the DSSD ? There's a picture of Charlize Theron wearing it once. I've searched for pictures of her wearing it but the only picture is of her at that Lakers game. For all we know she hasn't worn it again. Hardly qualifies the statement "women wear the DSSD".

As for what dictates the sex of a watch ? Well Rolex do. On their website they have a section called "women's selction". The bigger watch trend has not been picked up by Rolex and mm sizes lie. The 114060 is supposed to be the same size as the Daytona yet the 114060 was perfect size for me yet the Daytona was way too small.

In the "celebrity world" I see more Daytona's on women than men.

I'm not saying men shouldn't wear the Daytona. I believe it to be a unisex watch as well. I am also pretty sure they wont change the size. Until they do, the only one I would buy would be for my gf.

There are a few other pics floating around the interweb of women wearing the DSSD. And I suspect that there are even a few women that wear it that don't show up in a Google search.

I didn't realize that the Daytona was listed under the "Women's Selection" on their site.

I think the Cerachrom bezel roll-out will continue

To mark the anniversary, a reference with some 'Rolex green' elements - perhaps the chrono hand &/or dial text. This will be a regular production model, so imho any hype or talk of 'editions' or 'series' will be self-inflicted nonsense...

Don't know about the subdials, but I'd be surprised if they didn't do an SS with a black ceramic bezel.

Nothing dictates the "sex" of a watch unless it is 26mm in diameter.
Women can wear anything they like and that will not stop me from
wearing the one I want.
But Since the appearance of the DSSD..? I have yet to see a woman wearing one

I doubt that they will leave it alone, and it will morph as have the other models.
for me, the Daytona with Zenith movement is just fine.

IMHO the actual size is of Daytona is 38mm, because winding crown and chrono buttons shouldn't be included. I don't know why Rolex keep saying 40mm in their website. If you pick a Sub for example you can see the difference of size right away!
That's why I believe that Rolex in some point will launch a bigger version of Daytona. Maybe this year.
Cheers!

If they make it into a 41-2 mm and tastefully add the date in there, I will get one.
