Thoughts please...
I was given this strap...
It smells like leather but has no markings of any kind... I thought I would try it on my N series Tritium 16600... I will say that it's very comfortable... What do we think??? I'm not sure yet???:thinking |

Looks nice, what buckle are you using?

Does it taste like leather too?
Looks like a nice strap. Personally, I prefer a bracelet on Subs.

I'm not sure either. Historically, I have not been keen on leather on Subs and SDs. I generally prefer the oyster bracelets or NATOs. I have experimented with a few rubber ones, and a couple of exotics (python and stingray) and recently got a couple of comfy suede NATOs, but no 2-piece leather strap as yet. I'm still not sure about all of those, and usually end up on nylon NATO these days. I just can't love a sub on leather, for some reason (not meant to be, I guess, being water-sports watches).
It's a nice strap though, and I do like the cream stitching. Maybe better on a more vintage piece? Do you still have your 1665? I reckon it would look good on one of those. |

Clay,
looks great, i have a similar strap. fyi, after having tried many of the usual options, natos, leather, isofrane.... my favorite is the rubberb which uses the rolex clasp, because of the weight of the SD. the rubberb seems to be the most secure and balanced combination when wearing it on the SD. ps, not just any rolex clasp, either the 93250 or a modern clasp will work , but not the SD clasp and not the 93150 clasp if you want an ideal fit.

Clay I am thinking what you might be thinking as well, that a case as fat as a 16600 needs something bigger more substantial than a leather strap. I think some Subs on leather look good great. My 5512 PCG is on a leather strap. Even a Red Sub or a vintage Daytona look great...just not sure about the 16600.

NATO looks good Clay. I happen to love wearing Subs and of course Daytonas on leather straps. To each his own but for me a big yes! Cheers,

Leather to me just doesnt work on a sapphire sub or dweller. Plexi yes. No question about NATO though, sub and NATO just works.

Leather on a diver negates the purpose of a diver. Wet leather is noo fun

NATO! Also re the leather: I'm never really sure brown goes. I tried a brown distressed leather strap for a while but couldn't sell myself on it.

NATO Clay - but I am also drawn to that style of leather strap.
