How to order new LV Bezel

I have one of the earlier Sub LV releases with the fat four at the forty on the bezel. I have a scratch on the bezel and want to order a new one. I asked the AD but they weren't sure how do I get the bezel replaced with the exact bezel I have. I don't believe Rolex has a different part number for the newer style LV bezel

Help!!!

Here is a photo of what I am talking about...see the fat four?

You will get the current one, there is only one for delivery.

That's a real shame...I suppose there is no way to refinish my bezel, is there?

Rolex have a policy, when they change something and it
still fits the old watches so will they only have one option.

I suppose the 4 at your bezel was "wrong" and
that is the reason why they change it.

The fat four is the same style used on the black bezel submariner for as far as I remember. However all new submariners, LV or black bezel, come with the skinny four.

Oh well...I've contacted Quality Tyme but I didn't hear back from them with hopes of getting the LV serviced and to check if they can get me the old bezel.

cheers

If you cant replace insert with the same fat four style then leave it with the scratch it will be worth more in the future if it is original. also the scratch is part of the history of your watch, at least you wear it there are alot of green subs locked away un-worn this is a shame the LV is a great watch. enjoy it dont worry about the scratch just MHO.

regards kk

I just called my AD he said they (AD) can't order a LV bezel. The watch has to go to a RSC in his view. You could take the bezel off then send in the watch to a RSC. I don't feel this is going to be a cheap fix. Call Rolex and see say nothing about keeping your current bezel as they will say no (Rolex will want to trade you and charge you as well)
I say the old bezel is yours you paid for it Rolex has no right to swap and charge you as well; they do it all the time.

Thanks guys. I plan on keeping the original bezel for sure, that's really why I don't want to send the watch to RSC, but Quality Tyme hasn't contacted me yet.

cheers

My AD said same. You are in Connecticut, so take it to RSC in NYC or send it there. You will get great service. They will not give you the old bezel back. They do not allow them to float around to prevent brand dilution....One good reason your watch keeps its value.

I'd not worry too much about what kind of 4 you get, but you could save the old bezel insert if you would like to have that one on the watch if you sell it (despite the scratch). The LV (like the GMT II) had various variations of the bezel and dial font ("Oval O" of "Rolex" on the first LV, II versus || on the GMT II's, etc, but as for collectability I don't think there is much difference.

Here is an interesting overview over the LV's:

I agree. I would also send her in and get the fresh bezel.

Best of luck and let us know what course you take!

Why not pull off the insert and say you have lost it.

What can they do?

Refuse to sell you one?
