Nice dress watch

Gents/ladies after a slight bit of help! Have decided it’s now time for a dress watch! I know some will ask what exactly a dress watch is. Have two stunning subs and now time to add to the collection. I know what i would like but it’s a. Lange & Sohne and im afraid my budget will just not me to allow such an extravagance. Budget is around £10 k to £12k max.

Also other condition is it must be brand new as im really not interested in second hand as it’s just me having to deal with buying and wearing something that others have previously worn. Any suggestions

I would go with the JLC MUT Moon 39, loved that watch!!! It's classy looking and never go out of style

Always loved the MUT Moon and it's within budget if you prefer gold BUT have you considered the new Dornbluth Quintus Klassic or Quintus Auf & Ab? Both are within budget in Stainless and the Klassik is at the top of the budget in Rose Gold. Both have the ALS 1815 feel and are great German watches:

Its only in platinum, I read about 12k euros for it. I agree with the Dornbluth

I wish the 99.1 had drilled lugs as I already have two straps for it and I haven't even accepted delivery. Although I consider myself a pro at strap changes it's still hard to keep from scratching 100% of the time, even with tape.

Some people may think the lug holes for the Quintus distract from it being a dress watch but it'll sure makes strap changes a breeze.

I think you are getting a lot of great choices from other members in this forum but I'll have to go with Steven's choice and say MUT! However, allow me to post two other JLC's that could possibly interest you (I believe they're in the same range of price and I personally find them very dressy as well as casual enough to be worn everyday).

Like others, I too feel that Jaeger LeCoultre is a fine choice. Although the Master Ultra Thin Moon is a gorgeous timepiece, I prefer the more simple complication of the Master Grande Ultra Thin (see first image). It is a bit larger at 40mm, which I have always preferred. I have always believed that with dress timepieces, less is more.

Please keep in mind that the Jaeger LeCoultre Ultra Thin timepieces are just that, ultra thin. As such, though I love them, I ultimately prefer something a bit more substantial. If you are like me, I would suggest a Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931 (see second image). It's such a classic timepiece but, in my opinion, it is not at all mundane.

When you've had some time to think, please share your decision with the forum. We would love to hear what you ultimately choose. Cheers, mate. Oh, and one last thing, I will work for scotch!

If you like Lange & Sohne but not the price, definately check out Glashutte Original. They have finely decorated movements and large dates. They are also made in steel, bringing the price down to a range many can afford. Very classy dress watches in both traditional and modern flavors.

The expected price for the Master Ultra Thin Jubilée is 14,500 Euros.

I have to agree with others here, the JLC Reverso would definitely tick all the boxes.

I love the reverso, well at least most of them, and agree it's a contender.

However I do find it amusing how it has become very much though of as a dress watch despite being arguably the worlds first SPORTS watch!?!

I'm not ready to pull the trigger yet but I'm planning to get a PP5119J as my dress watch, you might just find one preloved or on the grey maket for your budget.
That said I am starting to think I'll have a good look at the reversos when the time comes.
I'd love one at some point because of the polo connection (I play and breed polo ponies for a living) but I'm not sure if it would be my dress watch or if I should get one in steel and rotate it with my submariner.

The Reverso being slim, manual wind, and with a shielded glass is an excellent do it all watch.

A great point, indeed. Perhaps 100 years from now we'll be calling the Submariner a "dress watch".
