I'm pretty sure the platinum DDII is your grail based on the posts I've observed. I also get the feeling you got it recently although I haven't seen the incoming thread.
I hear all sorts about grails. People say they should be unobtainable or some say they don't exist. To me the grail is something that is hard to get but that you obsess over. You're constantly looking at pictures on it and reading articles etc. For me it's a Patek 5496P. I'd have to become much more successful over the next 10 years to afford one and realistically it wont happen. There is a chance I could get it but a very small one and that's what makes it a grail in my eyes. I don't see the point in saying a grail is unobtainable. Frankly I don't pay much attention to things like the sky moon tourbillon or Vacheraon D'ile. |

MilSub. A simple 5513 will do - I have no need for exotic references. Naturally it needs
to feature sword hands and a bezel insert with minute markers all the way. |

I would love a WG DD with a diamond dial.

My grail watch has never changed in over 20 years. I have owned my Grail watch for 15 years and have no desire to change it. I find the toughness of the TT Sub wrapped up in an elegant package very desirable.
It's one thing to desire a watch but another to live with a watch for so long and still feel its your grail. I have seen "grail watches" become nightmares because the watch wasn't easy to live with. Comfort, practicality, and fitting your lifestyle are factors that will make or break living with your "grail watch".

Don't laugh, but my grail is an authentic Rolex Mickey Mouse. Not sure it even exists - conflicting information from two very well respected vintage Rolex dealers. But that's the one elusive grail watch I'd like to acquire.

WG Skydweller. Although it technically does not meet the test as the OP stated it had to be the watch you would sell all others for. I wouldn't do THAT, but I might sell a kidney for it.

I've seen them. They exist. I think they're pretty cool too.

I've seen them, too. Almost pulled the trigger on one last month, but the dealer couldn't authenticate the dial. One well-known dealer on the left coast claims that all Mickey dials are after-market paint jobs and no factory Mickey dials exist. And a well-known dealer in NYC claims that factory Mickey dials do exist. Only interested in acquiring a factory Mickey dial. So, my search continues.

It was a YG DD, but I got this one last summer.
Right now I'd have to say it would be a Coke bezel Fat Lady. Several around but not the right time.

Patek 5146 ... but there are a lot of watches between my current SS SubC and that one that I will own.
To me I want cool watches with significance to me ... cost is not the deciding factor in that. |

I have many, but my grail Rolex is a white gold Daytona with the slate/red dial.

Short term, many. My one absolute holy grail that I will have in the future is the WG sub. Its my favorite precious metal, one of my favorite watch designs, and my favorite color.
