Submariner 5508 Refresh Pics
After having my dads Rolex since I graduated from high school, I decided for my 40th bday that I should have it refreshed. My dad was in the Navy and bought this in Europe in the late 1950s. Unfortunately, he had it "serviced" back in the early 80s and the jeweler replaced the worn dial and hands that were "burnt" black. He had no idea if they used genuine parts. As you can see from the pics...likely not. Anyways, thought I'd share before and afters.

Thanks! The one thing I was looking for and never found was a genuine replacement crystal for it...Tropic 16. They are impossible to find, even replica ones do not exist. My watchmaker did a great job buffing out all the scratches and made it look new! Atlanta Diamond Exchange in Alpharetta, GA...big thanks!
