Maroon Five frontman wears a "military" Rolex

The March issue of Men's Health magazine has Adam Levine of the band Maroon Five on the cover wearing, I believe, a 14060 Sub on a Nato. The article states one of his favorite things is a "Rolex Military Submariner" next to an image of a 116610. Just thought it was funny I knew they meant he wears an older Sub no-date on a Nato, not a Sub-c.

Unfortunately, this somewhat misleading information now makes me question the validity of everything in the magazine. Will cutting out beer and donuts and running and doing push ups really help me lose weight? I don't really know now...

Justine Beiber had a blinged out Submariner on his skinny little wrist on SNL this weekend. It would slide almost up to his elbow.

Adam Levine is a huge Rolex collector. Seen him wear some great vintage pieces.

Levine has been pictured wearing a very vintage Newman Daytona. He has good taste in watches.

I also noticed that. No good wrist shots in the magazine though... oh well...

Hi Guys, I have been reading this issue of men's health also and have a question on the "military" submariner. I know he collects vintage rolex but I am wondering about the military tag.
Is there such a thing as a "military" submariner and if so what is it?
How does it differ from a regular vintage submariner?

Your help would be greatly appreciated guys, as always.

Yes.

Do an advanced search here on "Mil sub" or google it and see.

Oh yeah!! Again do a search and you will see. Some of the differences: fixed case bars, 60 minute bezel, sword hands, circle T on dial and specially engraved case back.

Actually even more depending on reference you are comparing too. Also there are multiple Milsubs from 5513, 5517, 5513/5517 dual ref. and A/6538. The 3 later ones are priced sky high if you can even find any of them which is unlikely!!!

I'm betting Levine has dealers like Robert Marron (Carlie Sheen's dealer) bring him all sorts of tasty Vintage pieces to try.

Read that article on the plane to San Juan.

Always liked his music.

Now I like his taste.

So if Biebs is wearing an "old man's watch" (gold) can we put to rest the idea that gold is for the old?
