No that is not correct.
Looks like it had a very poor fitting bracelet (probably non-Rolex), or an extreamly worn Oyster bracelet that wore down the inside tips of the lugs. I would avoid it. Do a search for 16800 and you will see what they are supposed to look like.

Horrible lug wear. That is always one point I ask for clear photos of before I will purchase a watch. I've turned quite a few down just for that particular reason.

On the bright side, you can pick stuff out of your teeth with those lugs. No need to carry around a toothpick...

+100 on this, wow, that's kinda sad for this to have happened to such a nice looking watch otherwise.

bad bracelet wear on the inside - probably worn too loose - and over polished on the outside

It happens to a lot of them I see it a bit on diff watches oyster bands and pres too. I will start looking for worn ones and offer no more than $2k. Worn lug is ok for $2k

Before it was polished it must have been chewed up pretty good.

Looks like the bracelet is or was probably stretched and the end link (connecting to endlinks) had a lot of play and hit the side of the lugs

i like those opolongo bands, but they seem to put a lot of stress and create friction in only one small area. just my impression. maybe i am wrong.
could also be that the endlink tubes wore out and top endlink wore down the lugtip. i hate getting excess friction on my tip (LOL) |

That is an easy fix with laser welding. I would definitely purchase it for the right price

I would pass on it, its not that rare of a watch model that you can't find another one in much better shape. If it were a bracelet that was streched no big deal as you just get a new one, but when it comes to worn out lugs or damaged cases it only makes sense to buy it and fix it if its a rare model.
