AD/Boutique timepiece demo/props for employees

All,

I apologize in advance if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find a thread right on topic.

So I was at the Rolex store in the Wynn last night and noticed that the three employees on duty were each sporting a late model Rollie. The female who was helping me was wearing a Sub-c which was fairly loose on her wrist. The two other employees in the store, both men, had on datejusts-one was a 116234 and the other was a DJ II. The woman made some passing comments to me about the other watches she wears-referencing a TT DJ, a diamond midsize DJ (this is the model she was pushing on my girlfriend), and an Explorer. Seems like a pretty nice collection!

My question is-do boutiques and ADs keep a stock of "demo" or prop watches that employees can wear while on shift? I'm not implying that a watch store employee couldn't afford to amass watches like anyone else, but it seemed odd to me that all the employees had new/fairly new watches on wrist. Additionally, I can't imagine the woman who was helping me could realistically wear the Sub-c as loose as it was on her wrist.

I've also noticed this at the Omega Boutique but I do recall some employees sporting older, discontinued models which makes me think they are personal watches.

What are your thoughts?

Maybe you could have demonstrated the operation of the Glidelock on the sub c for her?

Most Dealers do have an employee once-only price break, but that still doesn't make them cheap.. only less expensive..

I wouldn't be surprised if Wynn, who has an image as a Rolex Only store, has a few watches for the staff to wear while on the floor..
