I am full of admiration for the dedication and courage of all the law enforcement officers and everyone else involved in apprehending the suspects.
Truly impressive in what I initially feared could have been a virtually impossible task. |

I am glad that he is caught but I thought the ticker tape parade atmosphere was a bit much, becoming a "social media" event. I, for one, won't be watching the incessant tv coverage.

In real life, as opposed to online bravado posting, it's methodical and difficult work to do what it takes --as law enforcement in Boston has so admirably shown. |

4 dead, their families lives forever changed,a city/nation held in fear, the financial cost of catching these cowards were astronomical(good folks have to lock themselves in houses, business closed, schooling closed, mega numbers of law enforcement officers etc.) Make no mistake, the whole world was glued to the tv since the marathon bombings. Some South Africans also competed in the event.Ernst van Dyk,wheelchair legend, came second this year and was sitting in a restaurant close to the first explosion. He told how scary it was in an interview.Another female Olympian in marathon also competed and were in a nearby hotel.Same story, absolute fear when those bombs went off. Planting bombs and killing and maiming innocents is a cowardly act in its purest form.I hope your federal government press very hard for the death penalty for #2. |

You said "vigilant," I said "vigilante." Societies with a justice system based on rights and process, and an approach to democracy like that in the US, have to act on those bases, not abandon them when emotion is high. People expend a lot of energy describing a good society vs. a bad one, distinguishing good actors on the world stage from thugs and terrorists. Well, how we deal with prosecuting terrorism has to model those values.

Im very emotional about this topic as many of us are. I'll refrain from pushing the envelope in this forum.
Boston is one of my favorite cities and have visited there often. Its 'up the street' from NY where I reside. We've had our share of terrorist attacks here in the American North East. They surely know they will not break the American spirit with their cowardly attacks on innocent citizens. They do nothing more than solidify our resolve against these fanatics. Just as justice was served on bin laden it will be served on brother #2 in the near future. |

I have two observations: 1) The Russian Government warned the FBI in 2011 about the older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, and 2) take a look at the preachings of Sheik Feiz Mohammad, the guy the Tsarnaev brothers followed......it is clearly time for folks to wake up, before something far worse happens.

Lots of support for Boston up here in Nova Scotia ! Really glad the terrorist is in custody but really upset about all the fine folks that were affected by this. Here's an article from our local newspaper today that sums up our feelings towards the city of Boston. (Nova Scotians are nicknamed Bluenoser http://thechronicleherald.ca/novasco...luenose-hearts |

Not sure if any of you watched the Sox game today, but the pregame ceremony was pretty cool and my boy, Neil Diamond, did another live version of "Sweet Caroline", plus the Sox won. Stay strong Boston.

There have always been a lot of crazy people in the world but it is only in the last few decades that a few individuals seem to have had the capacity to have such a big a negative impact on so many.
I think we in the west are going to have to sharpen up a bit as individuals and be more aware and observant and take more responsibility individually for the wellbeing of our society as a whole. I don't think we can just leave it to our security and law enforcement to do all the heavy lifting. It is a sobering thought, but an inescapable one given recent tragic events. Australians are thinking of our American cousins at this time and wishing them fortitude in the face of these trials.

Very good to read that. Some of my forefathers traveled from Ireland to Boston, staying a generation in Nova Scotia.

In 2011 a foreign government warned against bomber #1 .He was investigated by the FBI... I guess the details will now emerge from this investigation.
Watching "Terror at the Marathon" now on CNN. Boston marathon,2 cowards with backpacks ,drop their loads, bombs ,death,injuries,mayhem....BUT,then emerge bravery, heroism, help, compassion, restaurants open their doors to those that are hungry, people open their hearts to those in need. Good will always triumph over evil. |

Unfortunately evil takes out a lot of good people first. It's nothing new. Been that way for centuries.

Bomber #1 may be linked to a triple murder in 2011 just outside Boston.
