ignore my first post...i was being a smartass, obviously, but unfortunately your watch isn't real. The Daytona was never made with a date...and never will be. As stated previously it looks like a re dialed Tudor Big Block...

It would be nice to see some better photos, as well as the back, bracelet (although that too looks fake from here), and movement..
It is possible that you do have a Tudor and it may be worth being properly restored - or at least you should know what you have.. It is also possible (likely) that it is a complete fake; as mentioned, it is not a Rolex..

From the looks of it, it seems like some type of Tudor probably made in the 90s/80s that dial has obviously been redone. As Larry said more photos will be essential. It might be a good idea to crack the back open (if you can without damaging the watch) and post a few photos of that as well.

Never seen one with a cyclop rotated like that or 'Rolex Geneve' it looks like you have a fake on your hands.

It may not be all bad ....
I'm no whizz on chronos but I'm thinking you may have a Tudor 79260 - see pic.
That said ..... if the seller all those years ago went to pains to morph it into a Rolex, you may find the base watch is fake too. If it is indeed a Tudor 79260, swapping on a correct dial and bracelet is easy enough - end result worth perhaps $2,500 |

I love it when folks come here to the experts then set about arguing authenticity when it's clearly, at best, fake

The only wise action now IMO is to open the back and see.
It has many details of a TUDOR, despite the fact that someone had changes a few bits and added also a plaquete with a Rolex Geneve. I trust that it is a Tudor, to my eye it is very detailed to be a copy.

Movement pics are necessary. http://www.matthewbaininc.com/assets...or-79160-z.jpg pull off the bracelet and tell us if theres a model number and serial number between the lugs. post model # and S/N in a 999XXX format. that tudor has the same dial. but where the tudor stuff would've been it's replaced with rolex. and it has a functional cyclops and the lume dots that are exactly like my vintage rolex, and the tudor i posted above. also another thing that leads me to believe is its a tudor is the automatic chrono time written in the same place as tudor did on there dial. |

the only way to confirm this is to take off the bracelet and post pics of in between the lugs, and a movement shot. Why do I think this same caseback as a tudor same dial as a tudor with the exception of the rolex crown (which appears genuine) and a square that fits right over where a tudor name would've been. The bracelet would've been a jubillee type bracelet, and the 455 endlink only turned up fake bracelets for me. the hands are the same as tudor hands and have patina to match a 70's or 80's watch. the lume dots at the markers are of rolex quality and type. and the sticks on the dial resemble a tudor stick dial. chrono time written in tudor fashion over the 6' oclock sub dial. all in all, I think that theres too many things that scream tudor, that would be too much to put in a fake watch. but at the same time im puzzled why somone would take a tudor and fake a rolex with it, although back im sure these big blocks could be picked up extremely cheap. |

but also notice how the lume dots dont line up with the sticks on the dial? I'm not disagreeing that it ISN'T a Tudor but...just an observation.
