Heading to Vegas....

....tomorrow for a little R&R.

Actually have tickets to the Billboard Music awards and a customer is flying in from London to join me. It should be a great weekend.

And no question what watch I'll be bringing.

WG DD2: all the way. No hesitation.

The true question is will I win enough to come home with something new.

In my dreams, if I won big enough I'd be coming home with a Daytona Panda dial.

I realize in reality I'll probably lose a grand or two, be extremely pissed at myself and justify it by saying its extremely rare I do something like this.

Anyway, just looking forward to the trip and visiting some fun watch shops.

My customer is very aware that this is a priority.

Hopefully the Ghost will bring me luck.

After you win on the tables...

Swing into Wynn if you can...

The Rolex shop there was doing a remodel the last time I was out to LV - but I would imagine they would be finished by now.

Forum Shop at Caesars always a good fly by to spend your winnings - good luck!

I was at the shop at Bellagio 2 weeks ago, and you're right, so much to look at. There was a gentlemen in there debating between yellow gold YM2 and a DD2. I overheard him ask for a cash discount to which they replied that they don't do cash discounts. He said thanks and walked out...probably off to Caesars or Wynn. I was in there trying on the DSSD (I must own one some day) but wasn't about to plunk down the $12,050 + tax. I had a good run at cards, but no "free" money was going towards a non-disounted cash sale. Obviously they have the client base to not worry about discounting us mere mortals.

LOL. Discounts in LV are just about zero everywhere. No need to discount--complete impulse buys.

The Wynn Rolex store remodel is not yet finished. I was there this past weekend and they said it would be 2 more weeks. Currently they are in a tiny retail spot that's temporary.

However, it sounds like the Wynn Store is becoming the Flagship North America Rolex Store. The salesperson told me Wynn is purchasing an additional 1k watches to further build out this store's inventory (includes 20 SS Daytonas too)!

Another interesting thing, the Wynn Rolex will also have the first "Rolex Experience" walkthrough/gallery. I'm not sure exactly what this will be but I guess we'll find out soon.

Don't give them any $$. Put it in your watch fund, or get a nice tattoo! If you've never seen Hoover Dam you should go there. It's a real nice dam. I haven't been there since they built the bridge. Previously traffic went right across the dam.

The new bridge is impressive and helps with traffic on the dam.

We're going next month, leave some food for us! We don't gamble much so it will be sight seeing and eating all week!
Hope you have a great time.

Rock out with the ghost everywhere in Vegas.

Forget the gambling go get a table at marquee, tryst or Tao and party like a rock star.

As you said, it's not something you get to do that often so make the most of it!

I say put that cash to a watch fund instead of the tables. Maybe limit your losses to $500. The house will always win in the long run.

Indeed. The bridge is impressive and quite taller than the dam. I say try on the watches you are interested in and then buy from one of our trusted TRF sellers. Good luck and I always win more in downtown LV than the strip. I'd check out Fremont street.

I can second this! Called Wynn Rolex up and the sales manager told me they were going to be having a grand opening of the new boutique on 5/24. I was also told they would now be the biggest Rolex store in the country, which is awesome! I've only seen the Chicago boutique and they had over 300 pieces, so I can only imagine the one at Wynn after the renovation!

Thanks for the advice guys!!

I'll probably be listening to a bit of it all.

My customer has never been to Vegas and will surely want to see all the cool architecture. We'll also probably hit red rock and I'll surely look into Hoover Dam.

And for certain we will be eating up a storm.

I'm also going to heed the advice to keep the gambling to a minimum.

I really do love sitting at the tables, but given that I'm with a customer, I do have to represent properly.

I hope to post some wrist shots of some cool sites and the watches, of course.

Have a great time. My wife and I are headed out next month, bought my first Rolex there. The May, 2011 price increase had just gone into effect, but I was able to get the old price, so like getting an 8% discount, plus no sales tax since I had it shipped. Las Vegas is THE place to window shop. Most shops, except the one with a T are very willing to have to try on anything.

calling an audible guys.....

typical me......very typical.

i was certain i was going with the ghost (WG DD2).......no hesitation.

as i am packing, i am thinking that i will take the Blue YM. i am thinking it is more comfortable, has the adjustable clasp (comes in very handy when traveling) and almost most importantly, while in this environment LUME might be necessary!!!!!

i just put it on and.....ahhhhhhhh, yes. pics will follow.
