Would you trade a Blancpain FF for a Sub-C
Hi Guys
I am facing a dilemma and need input from you and your experience. I currently have a new Blancpain Fifty Fathoms on sailcloth. It is a stunning watch, well finished inside out, 1315 caliber is having an amazing power reserve of 5 days and is also beautiful but not that it is so important as it is not seen through case back. Lume is killer on this watch both on the dial and on the bezel. Only problem with this beauty is that I find it quite big to say the least 45mm... I have the watch for 5 days now and can't see myself wearing such a huge watch on my skinny wrist of 6.75. I taught I could adapt but 5 days later, I am still thinking. Dos it look silly ? out of place ? I am thinking of selling it and getting the Sub-c instead. I am looking for a diver, something with pedigree, solid, with a workhorse movement that will be the partner of my AP15300 in my collection. I have been thinking of the Sub-C. What do you guys think ? am I crazy ? Any other alternative ? A picture showing the beauty taking all the space on my forearm. |

Amazing. Looks great. You will get used to it. And if not you can sell it later ...

You're not crazy at all. If you're not comfortable with the watch, then sell and find something that will make you happy.

Nice looking watch but if you don't wear it then get something you would actually use!

Both great watches. FWIW, I don't think it looks silly at all...on the contrary, looks great.
I would give it some time before I made any rash moves. |

Looks a bit big, still I wouldn't trade it for a Rolex.

Love the sapphire bezel of the FF. +1 on waiting it out before trading.

A FF will never look silly or out of place. Keep it.

The size would bother me too much. I would trade for an older sub without the maxi case.

Interesting feedback everyone
keep them coming. So far I am surprised by how little the trade it number is. I somehow expected it much higher considering where I posted |

Ah but it's a gorgeous watch with a pedigree that rivals (if not eclipses) the Sub. I still think it looks good on you. I'm wearing mine on a 6.5" wrist with no worries.

I prefer the SubC to the FF but it is still a nice watch.

I say go for it. You should know right away if a watch is for you. I have owned watches for less than a week before, and I don't regret shipping them off for something else that I will wear more. Sometimes a watch just isn't for you, no matter the history or pedigree it has.

Definitely don't do it. You have a gem of a piece there. The SubC is way too common and, IMHO, and not in the same league as a FF. But in the end, you have to do what makes you happy. Good luck on your decision.

NO WAY!
That's a terrible trade. You should keep and enjoy that fantastic Blancpain watch. |

If you cannot or do not want to wear it, then sell it.
Having said that I would not sell it for a Sub-C. Perhaps the AP Diver?

Have you investigated the AP Diver as an alternative to the FF?
I agree with most that I would give it a bit more time and see if you still seem unsatisfied, then trade it in for what you think you'll enjoy most. If that's the SubC then definitely go for it, with a high end watch the main thing should be the enjoyment it brings you IMO. The FF looks great on your wrist from the wrist shot. |

IMHO the Fifty Fathoms is a legendary timepiece and NO WAY would I trade it for any Sub, its way superior in almost every way. I very nearly bought one myself. It was a toss up between that and a Glashutte Original Sports Evolution Panorama Date (to keep it short lol). I went for the Glashutte in the end because of the amazing date complication, clear case back among other refinements the Sub didnt have. Anyway, thats just my opinion. The Sub is still a really great watch with a good pedigree, but its simply not in the same class as your BP FF. +1 for I think you will get used to the larger size, I actually think it looks good on you!

Stunning watch. I love my SubC but you will see 500 SubC's before you see one Blancpain FF. Keep it!

If you're asking.....
IMO that looks DY-NO-MITE on your wrist!!.... That's a gorgeous watch, no idea why you would even consider a trade like that, but to each his own....you're the one who has to be happy.....
