Memorial Day Weekend

My Father was a WW2 vet who fought in the Philippines....but survived the war
untouched except for nasty drinking habit and smoking....which killed him at 58.
His older brother died on the Arizona.
One of the worst days of my life was going to this girls service in 2005.
The father was a friend of my older brother and I knew this girl since she was born. I tried to talk her out of joining the ARMY.....everybody tried.

It is the one day out of the year for the nation to set aside political views and to remember, to reflect, and to honor those who have given their all in service to their country. Its date may differ in other countries, ours comes this Monday, but to all of those brave souls who sacrificed - we salute you...

I love Boston and the patriotism shown...spent a 4th of July there and it was awesome!
