Nice, Victor!
Any pics of your watch while driving one of those babies?

Great pics!
Had to bail last minute this year for conflicting plans. I have a standing ticket reserved with a friend just opposite the pits. Was a little bummed last year with the new motors, they didnt have the usual visceral impact as previous years. Been there three times and three times Dario Franchitti won, its always nice to watch Ashley run down the track to congratulate him:) Enjoy the race, look forward to more pics!

If anyone missed the last lap of yesterday's Indy Lights race then you should hit YouTube for a replay of the finish.
Winner went from P4 to in T4 to checkered in a 4-wide finish. Was inspired driving!

We're leaving for the track here in about an hour. This will be my fourth day at the track this week. On Friday, I'm sitting in traffic, look over, and Mario is in the lane next to us on 16th St. Driving a Camry Rental. :) Tried to get a pic but couldn't get my phone out of my pocket fast enough.
A couple of the people on here that I've talked to via PM know this, but I'm in the promotional product business. One of my clients is the Dairy Association. Each year I get to do one very special promotion - the etching of the milk bottle. This year the bottle is different than every other year. I won't say what it is, but we'll see if anyone notices it. It's pretty cool to be the first person to hold such a famous tradition. I also do the Louis Meyer award which is given to the previous year's winner at Saturday's Driver Meeting. And my favorite bottle photo. |

I got up early to catch the F1 Monaco race - it was quite good this year.
Looking forward to the 500 this morning and the Coca-Cola 600 this evening. The Sunday before Memorial Day is always a great day for watching motorsports.

It was good to see Jim Nabors back and looking vigorous for "Back Home Again in Indiana." The pre-race ceremonies at Indy are the best.
Television cannot convey the speeds of the cars. I stood on the stretch at Belle Isle as the cars screamed by ten feet away at 195 mph. The shock wave of air punched me in the chest as each car drove by at almost incomprehensible speed. I had a hard time imagining that humans were guiding them. |

Congrats Tony!
Wish it was a green flag finish though. Chevy powerplants in the first four spots. Loving the C7 Corvette! |

What a great race! I wonder what position one would want to hold going into that last lap? I could see #2 taking #1 in the second turn and #3 taking it all in the front stretch.

It was fun to see Max Papis and Alex Zanardi in the post-race interviews. Max was always extremely nice to fans, and Zanardi was an amazing racer and now Para-Olympic athlete after the loss of both legs in a horrific crash.
Here's a photo of Papis getting his arse chewed by Dan Gurney for a dumb track move: Jimmy Vasser, owner of Kanaan's car: "Mad Max" and my daughters in the 90s. He was their favorite. Alex Zanardi: |

That photo is interesting. One of two things happened: The logo was photo shopped off the bottle, or it's the Owner's or Chief Mechanic's bottle (more on that in a minute).
This year we did something different. Usually, the American Dairy Association / Winners Drink Milk logo is on one side (color filled black) and on the opposite side, the event logo and bottle title (2013 Winning Driver), which is etched, but not color filled. For 2013, we put the ADA / WDM decoration on two sides and the event logo / title on the other two. So basically any way they turned the bottle the WDM logo would show. We've had issues in the past of the driver not holding the bottle 'right'. The event logo never shows when the bottle is full because it's not color filled. Now, there are actually three bottles in Victory Lane. The Winning Driver, Winning Chief Mechanic and Winning Team Owner. The Mechanic & Team Owner bottles were not etched on all 4 sides. So the bottle in the above shot could be one of them. Or it's photo shopped. I'll have to talk to my people & see if someone handed him one of the other bottles to pour over his head for a second photo shoot (not uncommon). Best one of the bottle. |

It was real cool to see Tony Kanaan finally do it.
However there's just something wrong with an Indy race when it's better not to lead the race due to strategy reasons (fuel). The race to first even real early in the race made it more exciting.
