New 2013 Rolex YachtMaster and GMT
Hi everyone. I noticed there were a lot of questions about the new GMT an YachtMaster released earlier on this year.
I dropped by the Rolex boutique at the Wynn this morning. I was told that they have already sold 5 new GMTs and they will be getting new ones in a few weeks. Apparently they were the first ones in the world to receive these pieces and to be able to sell them. Also they have sold (forgot the number) some new SS YachtMasters but only to repeat customers of this particular boutique. I have seen the YachtMaster in London but it was not for sale. I posted the pics before on these forums but apparently I did not get the correct prices, since they had not sold any and it was probably an approximation. The definite selling prices as per the Wynn Rolex boutique are as follows: New GMT: $8,950 New YachtMaster: $18,750 I hope this clears up some points. And if anyone is interested in buying the first few GMTs and YachtMasters, they can go for the new inventory at the Wynn Rolex boutique in a couple of weeks. |

I'll wait for these to start being discounted later next year before getting any new models from Basel.

They still won't discount the Yacht Master I which was introduced last year. My AD just got their second one.

This why I appreciate forums such as these. It allows us to be more informed consumers. I will say that I don't think many other watch owners think about this as much as members here do.
To the OP. Great looking watch. One of my favorites. If it bothers you that much, it will probably bother you a lot more if you take it back after 1 - 2 months after purchase because you may not enjoy the outcome. |

The $18K price was within the range of expectations. Now to wait 5 years and snag one on a rebound!

I'm not saying the salesman lied but it wouldn't be the first time. I thought I'd read in another thread that the flagship store in New York claimed they would be the first in the States to get the new GMT. They can't both be telling the truth. Certainly since it is not an entirely new watch/movement/case, they can probably be available sooner rather than later, but still.
Now, if the OP had actually seen one for sale in the display case then...but alas, he didn't. I'll save my excitement for when I see the first wrist shot with filled out warranty card. And I too will enter the market when they pop up for sale here by some of the boys.

I mean snag a pre-owned one that is being flipped. Methinks $12K in 2018 yrs for a pre-owned resale that was originally sold in 2013.

Very helpful info Soly. I was holding out on buying an AP Diver for a SS YM2. But at that price I'll just buy the diver and go for a YM2 once I can get it pre-owned.
