Mixed Gold Rolex Watches

I would imagine this may have been covered already but I would think it would look great if Rolex came out with Gold Models which combine to colors of Gold. I could see where a Model has one color Gold for the Watch Case and then the middle links on the bracelet would match it and then a different color Gold on the outsides of the bracelet links. Does this sound like a good idea or am I hallucinating???

What's everyone's thoughts and opinions on the subject???

I think this is not a bogus idea. However, a solid gold (especially yellow or rose gold) watch is a serious matter and mixing gold colours may give it a less formal appearance.

Maybe, some Rolex designer is reading and we'll see it at Basel 2032

A mixed gold rolex watch exists, but was not very popular from what I've seen. Im sure the experts will chime in shortly.

The 18948 Tridor Masterpiece DD was just like you described. A stunner to some eyes and a stopper to others. Opinions are fairly polarized in a love it or hate it vein. But it does shout "look at me!"

not sure about that watch. It almost looks fake. Too many color variations.

In time, with more reading in the reference sections, you'll be able to identify the wide array of genuine Rolex models...

I asure you a Rolex Tridor MAsterpiece is a genuine model, albeit rarely seen.

could you please explain to me the bracelet on this watch? Is that a mix of gold on the central links? What other models came with such gold mix in the bracelet?

The band is white, yellow and pink gold called a tridor day date. No other models comes like this except maybe a vintage rolex prince brancard model i seem to recall off the top off my head, it had a striped appearance but in only two golds i think

I may be wrong, but I thought the Tridor version of the President bracelet was also available on a ladies sized Datejust and a mid-sized Datejust, as well as the gents sized Day-Date. Could someone with easy access to a catalogue from circa 2000 confirm this, please?

Thanks. I thought that was the case. If I'm correct, that version of the Tridor was discontinued when the current version of the Day-Date was introduced.

I think the old Tridor is a really beautiful watch and would love to try one someday (or perhaps buy one...), it sure is a great example of a tasteful mix of the three gold colors Rolex offers. As for the modern Tridor Masterpiece, it looks very beautiful as well (especially with the Pearlmaster bracelet) but perhaps a bit too flashy to be considered an everyday watch for me. If you ask me I think you have a good idea Leo and I like what Rolex offers right now, who knows if they will offer us more models like those in the years to come.

Demand for the Tridor never developed to the degree it did for TT DJs and YG DDs. It may become one of the higher valued collectibles down the road due to the few that exist (compared to the multi-millions of DJs and DDs)
