Interesting comment made by Aruba Rolex AD regarding Tudors.
This last week I was in Aruba browsing the Rolex AD trying to convince myself that I really wanted to make the jump to the Deep Sea from my Sea Dweller. Neither my Son (who I always consult when making a new watch purchase as he will eventually end up with them :) nor I, could get past our dislike of the engraved rehaut. So having recently acquired a Tudor Black Bay we moved over to the Tudor section to see what they had. In the Tudor case was a dismal collection of older "Bling" watches. I asked the AD what was up with that and was told they had decided to discontinue Tudors because there wasn't any consumer interest! Hmmmmm....

Not every product works in every market. I wouldn't call Tudor a failure because they couldn't sell in Aruba. And I wonder if the AD there ever bothered to get in the newer line? I don't see how you can look at the Heritage watches and the Pelagos and not be a little interested.
BTW, that's a sweet photo. The wife and I are talking about Aruba or Curacao for Thanksgiving. It's been a long time since I've been diving but your photo is tempting me. |

Curacao is 1000% better diving!! I go there once or twice a year. Aruba for the most part is a sandy bottom, with no reefs or reef fish. |

And Bonaire is even that much better than Curaçao

Great pics. As much as I like the DSSD, I like the Sea Dweller more

$700 to fly to Aruba $1300 to fly to Bonaire It's been extensively documented that 50% of the reef has died off in Bonaire due to the overabundance of divers. Just saying...

It's just classic. Look at it like this, I can see myself wearing a Sea Dweller when I'm 80. A DSSD, not so much. If you're a guy with more than one watch, then I say enjoy both

For me the choice is Aruba or Curacao. Flights from where I live are just under $500 for Aruba and about $450 for Curacao. I also need a place Momma and the girls would like as well. Your photos are killing me. I just realized I have no idea where any of my cert cards are right now. Back in college an ex-special forces diver took a liking to me while I was in ROTC and certified me up to Divemaster. That was 20+ years ago. I think the last dive I made was probably in Cancun about 10 years ago. I once taught a buddy of mine how to dive in an hour. He took his first dive in the Puget Sound. 48 degree water. That kid was especially gifted. He is now full bird colonel in Special Forces. Holy thread drift!
