Newbie TT Datejust purchase options on Ebay

So what about this one for a starting option to get a Rolex:

Nice 1998 DJ TT from Authentic Seller Buckojoe

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=150211298831

This is a nice option from Beckertime

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=370017843696

you thoughts?

Both are very reputable and do only sell Authetic Watches.

Based on feedback, both look like great sellers. IMO, go for the TT Datejust.

I have not personally purchased from either party. However, I've followed Buckojoe's auctions for several years and everything I've seen or heard has left me feeling quite comfortable.

Give him a call and talk about your questions. I suspect he will put you at ease.

Good luck one way or the other.

I was wondering about the sticker on the back of the watch in buckojoe's auction.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=150211298831

does it seem legit for a 1998?

I have the same TT watch in Buckojoe site. Mine is 1997. I have worn it off and on, and it looks great as the first day that I got it. The green sticker has faded and there are no letters showing now, but who cares about the sticker. It'll come off anyway.

The blue one looks great too, but the diamonds are a little too much for me. A TT blue dial with Roman Markers is awesome. I can never get enough of the SS/18K/Blue combination.

I've been tracking both of the sellers you're looking at for a while. Both are solid eBay'ers.

I did, but went it too low with too low of a max. Never thought it would have gone for that much.

That's OK.

You have to do some homework up front. Is the seller legit? How long have you been keeping tabs on his auctions? When was the last account activity? Look at his feedback for previous sales, does he have a good track record of selling high end watches? Look at his feedback for purchases, are they consistent with what he's selling? Does the item look good in the pix, and does it match your criteria?

Now you've decided that this is what you want, how much are you willing to pay for it? When your bid goes in, it has to be for the absolute maximum you're prepared to pay. Snipe that amount, and if you get the infamous "You've Been Outbid", oh well. There'll be another right around the corner.

buckojoe wants cash equivalent, beckertime takes PayPan. I would go with PayPan and use a CC. As for honour in the past it is no guarantee what the future may hold.

I have no personal knowledge of ether seller but beckertime does state if the bracelet or dial is "custom". The means non-Rolex and according to Rolex selling that watch is a violation of US copyright law. I have to stop reading the fine print.

Do Datejusts have 27 jewel movements?
