Bracelets

I've been noticing a lot of pics of members wearing bracelets next to their watch cases lately. I'm not talking about the cute rubber band ones our kids make for us. I'm talking about ones with metal parts such as skulls or brass beads etc. are these simply poses just for the pic, or are you wearing these lime this. If wearing like this how do you keep them from clanging/rubbing against the case and causing major scuffing? This is NOT another " oh scratches" thread. I'm just curious. I personally would not wear anything metal next to my watch case but some of the bracelets I've seen look very cool.

Personally I think the bracelet and watch on same wrist is a fun look. Others I'm sure will disagree - but that's the fun of being a WIS - everyone's different.

Oh I agree. My son gave me a blue and gray rubber band bracelet and it looks great beside the watch. I also think the metal ones look nice but don't have the courage to try it.

I think it looks pretty good just need to find the right type of bracelet/material.

The right bracelet = cool IMO
The wrong = sleazy
Guess its a fine line ? I think the right stainless and or silver bracelet can give off a good look.

Who said anything about baby? There's a difference in worrying over scratches from daily wear and the potential to gouge the crap out of your watch from repeated contact with the same object over and over. I buy mine to wear too.

I love the tough guy comments all the time about " wear it and beat it" and then y'all have secret closet meetings where you polish your watches together. LOL.

Hey Matt, I do have a gold bracelet that I wear from time to time but always on my right wrist. On my left wrist is the watch only and nothing else.

Not a tough guy here, it's just I see a dozen threads a week on scratches and the like. Metal on metal will scratch. If you care, don't do it. If you don't, then do.

I agree with the number of scratch threads but this isn't one of those " oh mah guh I scratched my clasp while pumping gas" threads.

This is specifically about cause and effect ( if any) from wearing bracelets against the sides of the cases. Nothing more.

I don't wear a bracelet. However, I have a friend who wears a Nikken bracelet and necklace--says it brings him health and stamina. I'm thinking about buying one of them for luck. I went to the casino--just for fun, ya know--and I lost two bucks. I can't afford to lose any more $. I need the bracelet I will let you know how it goes. If I win, WE ALL WIN, MY FRIENDS

They're not "tough-guy" comments..

You know, it is just a watch... just like any other piece of jewelry that people wear.. The idea that it must be protected and kept pristine and scratch-free over it's life is really a bit of a stretch..

I don't wear other jewelry except a ring, but my wife always wears a tennis bracelet next to her Rolex, and that bracelet is worth a whole lot more.. Should she worry that her watch may scratch the bracelet ???

I wear a few bracelets that are either made of gold, beads (wooden or stones) or leather/macrame (Pandora bracelets), whether I wear them on the same wrist as my watch or the other one depends on the watch, the bracelet and my mood but I don't quite mind the scratches are the jewelry I wear is, in my opinion, not "tough" enough to damage my watch (it hasn't done anything to all the ones I've owned over the years).

I didn't worry about it too much, I don't really care if my watches get scratched from daily wear, I don't have them polished and live with it perfectly. In fact, unless the scratch is being done by somebody else who was careless I get over it very quickly.
