116610LV special or a fad

Recently I went to my local AD to try on the green submariner. Prior to going I called and asked if they had one in stock. I was told they had two in stock.

When I showed up both had already sold. One was being sized and the other was being paid for. I guess bad timing. My AD says they don't last long because
they are limited. With this experience Im left with a stronger desire of getting one.

I wanted to ask all of you, if the HULK a fad or is there something special about it where there is limited quantities and as a result theres a demand for it.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

It's not limited and not particularly hard to get. I'd find another AD that's better informed.

I think your AD wants you to think they are limited as a business ploy to sell you one. I don't believe that at all. As long as they sell, Rolex will keep churning them out. They are obviously very popular at the moment

Your AD is a good salesperson!

The LV is definitely NOT limited or rare.

I don't think it's a "fad" either...but it likely wot be around forever.

There are plenty around at ADs...the Classifieds here...and many other dealers.

It's popular because it's not the same black on black sub everyone has, but I see them sitting in the cases in any Rolex AD in Northern California I walk into all year. Couple years ago, different story...

Not a fad, Rolex don't do fads.
I have had the same experience in finding one. Wempe and Rolex NYC have not had it both times I visited NY but Tourneau had one with a deposit already.
So it's not necessarily rare or limited but I will say that it's not as equally available as the black Sub. I do run into the LV at times, but I ALWAYS see a black Sub anywhere I go.
Even the for sale section here, way more LNs than LVs, so it isn't limited or rare but it's something....

I don't see the LV sticking around forever, it's popular now and in the moment but green gets old over time.

Completely agreed.. And the word fad and Rolex do not belong in the same sentence.

I inquired from a local AD about the Hulk and was told that when they get one, they will call me , and there are other eight people on the list. This was about one month ago, I went and tried it, its a very sharp looking watch , but could be just too green in the long run for me......a month later its still sitting in the case.

Not limited just lower production maybe and decent demand. Certainly not rare.

I do wonder though what would happen if they discontinued it tomorrow

The world and his wife own a Black dial sub, I think most people like the Sub but want something more individual hence the popularity of the LV.

Tried one on at an AD here locally in Fairfax, Virginia. Asked if there was any discount. Salesman said none. 9050.00 dollars plus 5% Virginia sales tax.

Was in Wempe NYC last Saturday and took off my LV to try on 2 pieces and the salesperson said " Wow that's really rare! I know it's hard to find" Pleasant sales ploy, nothing more.

It is a green Submariner, not limited, not a fad. If you want green you need to keep looking.

The LV isn't a fad. Been around for 10 years now in one form or another. They're just popular

I read somewhere that Rolex build the the LN to LV ratio at about 4 to one so for every 4 Black Sub-C's you see ther should be one Hulk..

Its a green sub. All the parts are the same except the dial and bezel.
Movement is in house, so no trouble getting it.
If you like the way it looks, go for it, but dont get it because you think its limited, its not.

The 16610LV would be my choice... That one is limited.

Not limited, not a fad.

Also not for everyone.

Don't think they will make them forever........... but who knows.

I think they meant that it is a limited watch... Meaning that the amount of them they get in is limited and when they get them they go quick. I don't think they were saying it was a limited addition... But who knows.. At any rate, I will say the Hulk is a great timepiece that will serve you well!

I think in someways it's fad for those looking for a 'different' look. Personally I think the original LV is and will be more desirable. Here again that's my opinion, perhaps cause I own one.

It's not hard to find - I regularly see them in AD window displays in this part of the world (currently UK)
