Squeaky Brand New Oyster Bracelet(s)

Hey all

I've added another brand new Rolex Datejust II Ref: 116300 (silver dial) to my collection, which arrived today. Beautiful!!!

Problem is, due to the fact that it's brand new (it was actually personally picked up by the manager at Mappin & Webb, Royal Exchange showroom, yesterday from their HO) it has a slight squeak to the Oyster bracelet.

On a side note, I also had to purchase a brand new Oyster glidelock system bracelet to replace a damaged one for my 116610LN, which also has a slight squeak to it.

Is there a special, recommended lubricant, that I can use to eliminate the said squeak(s), or is it best just to wear the bracelet(s) in?

TIA

PS Pictures to follow :-)

Thanks, Cesium.

I forgot to mention that my 116610LN Oyster bracelet has actually stopped squeaking now that I've worn it for the best part of 2 weeks. In fact, I actually answered my own question, really. However, it's always best to get other opinions :-)

As said by others I wouldn't use any type of lubricant.

I'll be honest. Two days ago I was concerned about the squeak on my new DSSD. But after reading this thread, I have changed my mind and am loving my squeak till it lasts. I know it will be gone soon and I will surely miss it.

Just a couple more things. Does anybody know how many links there should be on the following bracelets, from new, as BNIB, as I swear some AD's "retain", for want of a better word, one or two, here and there: -

1. Rolex Submariner Date 116610LN - Oyster
2. Rolex Datejust II 116300 silver baton - Oyster

TIA

Send it to me immediately. I will test it in a real world environment for one year and return it along with my confidential report which will be shared only with Rolex, S.A.

Embrace the squeaks. They'll go away eventually, at least they did for me.
