Hope it all works out for you. I've had my car broken into a few times and I know it's not anything near what you're experiencing but it just feels like you've been violated. Time will help that feeling but it sucks that there were some sentimental pieces in there. Whoever they are, they'll be judged one day. Good luck and all the best.

Very sorry to hear. Glad nobody was hurt. Definitely report that serial # to Rolex. If it was insured hopefully you'll have a replacement soon.

I wonder if a criminal would be dumb enough to put it up for sale on Craigslist or Ebay..

Thank you all for your kind words and help. Yes, we have insurance so at least the monetary value of the expensive things will be covered. The police reported all of the info about my Rolex to Rolex. I have been lookin on Ebay here in Germany but I think it's long gone. What I am told is it's probably been sold somewhere in Eastern Europe along with the rest of our things. We got new and better locks, and are looking into alarm systems. But really, there is nothing more to take.
Thank you all again, stay safe.
Best from Berlin. :-)

I have cameras and motion sensors at my home. If I plan on leaving for more than a few hours I place my valuables in a safe at the bank or hide them around my house (ziploc bag in a vent or something).

Sorry to hear this. When I moved overseas this last time my Bell and Ross was stolen by the movers. Thankfully insurance came through eventually but it still sucks when you're going through it. Particularly when family heirlooms are involved....those are irreplaceable.
