SOS -(((Please Help))) Gift of a Pre Owned OP Date
Yesterday, I was asked if I wouldn't mind waiting for a Fedex express mail package.. .I was more than happy to. At around 11AM I signed for it (without my reading glasses). In any event, I went about my day and after dinner.. was coaxed into opening it. Surprise!! "Something for you to wear during "The Masters".. .And when I saw the green box.. .I very nearly fainted.
I feel so terribly responsible for this.. . Gosh, How many mowed lawns does this represent? Okay, First things first.. . It was bought online .. . I think I need to call in the cavalry and get some expert opinions.. .(((TRF Members Please Help))) It came with a Service Booklet and Consumer Invoice dated 4 years ago, just this week. And as well a light green document sleeve from Rolex Consumer Service Division.. Rolex OP Date.. . Rolex Model 15037 Movement: 3035 Circa 1981 1RSC Service Invoice Indicates: Serial 7108xxx 1 Factory Mov't service -pres prf, xtal &tube 1 Refinish case 1 Bezel 14k YG Fltd 1 Dial Champagne Yg markers L 1 Winding Crown Monobloc 1 Pair of hands 1 Second hand Invoice totaled $1,700.00+ with tax Phew Okay, Heaven knows I need some help here on this.. . I pray it's legit, because I just know how disappointed they'll be. I'm hoping not to have to break bad news.. but the upside is that at least it can be returned, seller is a retail business. There's a few things I'd noticed but may not apply. For example, one question I do have is on the bracelet. .. I noticed the end links aren't visibly stamped/coded (but I'm not clear as to whether this was the norm circa 81' I've as well read they stamped them interior to the end links requiring a bracelets removal). Also, the fitment between the lugs seems low, although, I have as well seen this before.. . We actually do have a much older example of a 14K Rolex OP Date w/USA Jubilee under our roof but it's from the 60's and the bracelet end pieces are visibly stamped 49 and as well a clasp piece is stamped or etched with what I presume to be possibly a date code 2-9. Also, I noticed the folding clasp on our older jubilee example has 7 (what I believe are referred to as) micro adjustment holes, where-as this newer one has only 6. Waiting to exhale... Keeping fingers crossed and awaiting your much respected verdict! Thank You!!! |

Looks Good , Bracelet does need attention, but you could also wear it with a strap. Good Luck. (nice surprise).

Pheww..I have been holding my breath..waiting to exhale. I must have tossed and turned all night..Thank you so much!! Actually made me cry! I just feel so relieved.. . I feel like I've received an award!! LOL
Authentic is wonderful news and as for the bracelet.. Yeah, the USA 14K Jubilee bracelets were made looser to begin with, not sure as to why.. . I know Michael Young is the go to person by a resounding number of members but I couldn't bring myself to ship the bracelet overseas.. .I'd be a wreck. .. Is there anyone stateside that you all might be inclined to recommend? Meanwhile, I'll wear it as is for The Masters ;) and perhaps switch it over to a nice strap.. In any event Have a Hug!! |
