This sale is one where the buyer should exercise extreme caution and contact me before doing anything.

I do now know who the buyer is but do not proceed without speaking to me first.

Thanks Mods. Now that this has been moved to Watchout, can we ask what's up? Watch or Seller, or both?

Thanks again.

We have some suspicions that the seller is not what they purport to be.

Nothing absolute, just reports that this type of advert is too similar to known scams on other sites.

Also, his location is not what the seller states it to be.

Hope you guys were able to make contact with the buyer. $5100 for a full pkg M-serial Sub? Yeah that's too good to be true.

Before I start my story, I would like to apologize if I am not supposed to post my experience here. I have no posts in this forum, but I have been a long time lurker here. I usually buy and sell or post on WUS under the same ID.

I was scammed by this chap from Germany last year November, while attempting to get a Z series SD from TZ. 3 other gentlemen across the globe met the same fate as me. Am sure there are many more who have no idea what to do. There was Rolex's and Speedmasters involved in the sales.

I have been closely monitoring him on TZ and WUS on a daily basis, and easy time his posts appears I report them to mods. One might argue that I might be wrong in some cases, but thus far I have been spot on based on how I have learnt to spot him. When i doubt I do send an email to the seller and its easy from then on to decide whether the seller is a scammer or not. The scammers return reply always could be traced to the same location based on IP trace. He also claims to be in Netherlands in a village bordering Germany, however the IP trace is quite accurate to indicate his location.

I was a bit surprised he was now trying his luck in the TRF sales forum, especially given that members here pay a fee to post, and the fact the community here is quite mature, and could spot an aberration as such as this. I came across his post by chance while growing for approximate value of a V series which I plan to buy locally in Singapore.

I do not know the location of the seller in this case, and the details of the deal.
Please be vigilant in guarding this forum. A full set M series SUB at sub 4k USD is simply too good to be true, even at where I come from.

This scammer is usually a newbie, i.e he has creates an ID just to post the watch for sale (in this case he has paid 25$). He may usually post a single picture of the watch or more, which depends on how many pictures of the watch he can find online. When contacted he comes across as a trusted individual no doubt. However when probed for references you get none, instead he will mention that his experience is only in local F2F deals and local watch communities or gatherings.
If you ask for more pictures he will come up with reasons such as "A sudden business trip" which is convenient to delay any possible pictures. A good way to know if the sale is a scam or not is to ask the seller to get picture of the watch with a newspaper of the day to with a thumbs up sign next the watch or whatever to prove he has the watch. You guys know how that works.

He will provide a fake ID which probably stolen or from internet belonging that of a middle aged man who seems calm and trust worthy.

I fell for it, so its not difficult for other to get trapped, especially when his prices are way below "even the best deal" around. I have no hope of getting my money back but at least I would do what I can to prevent another scam. Even though I have been tracking him quite avidly, just two weeks ago i spotted a post on TZ selling a Speedy pro. When i replied to the post, a member contacted me saying he has already been scammed.

If any one has any questions or require more details I am happy to provide what info you may need. Especially if there is another post as similar to this.

Thanks for the info. I don't understand why he made two 'sold' posts, though. A mistake?
