I bought my DSSD from Dickson Jewellery & Watch at IFC Hong Kong on the 1st of January 2009. It was the second piece (out of total two pieces) the particular boutique had received in 2008. If I recall correctly, retail was around HKD63,000 back then.

The booklets etc. for mine were in English, so you should have no problem. Ask for at least 5% discount. I paid full retail at the time (asked for a discount but on such a newly introduced watch at the end of 2008, it was not easy).

No comparison to the prices in most parts of Europe. Get the watch, wear it under a sleeve on the way back home, keep the Rolex guarantee card and the receipt on you, ship the box home from HKG. Simple.

Oh, and enjoy Hong Kong. It is a beautiful and vibrant place.

Ironically, I live out there, and it is cheaper for me to buy in the UK and get the VAT off as I am non-resident, than to buy in Hong Kong.

HK price is about 4,975 pounds at the current exchange rate. No real discounts from grey sellers yet.

As long as it's an AD, you'll be fine. I bought my first Rolex in HK in 1994 and recall that memorable experience to this day.
